Either way, both consoles are capable of full 1080p, if properly optimized. Carmack said that he pulled every single stop he could with the PS3 Cell Processor, and claims to have made a game run at 60 FPS, contain a PC level Super Texture pack, and in full 1080p. I believe this is in fact true HD.

@DialgaMarine3 ACtually for the most part most game on PS3 and Xbox render at basically the same resolutions. Both platforms are filled with tons of titles that use lower than 720p frame buffers and then rely on scaling. Also I'm sure he didn't say that especially since Cell doesn't help with pixel fill rate on the RSX the same chip that Carmack complained was too slow at rasterization. They could of done more if they focused on Ps3 but it would suddenly be a 1080p game, the hardware inst there.

When I watch this game... I'm amazed how they got it to run a 60 FPS on the 360/PS3. Now, with DOOM 4 confirmed to be at 30 FPS. I can't wait to see what that game looks like.

In addition, Willits recently revealed that the team has optimized Rage to work on the PS3 so all of the CELL cores or SPEs are utilized to prevent nasty texture pop-up.

This looks very good, but you can clearly see that the texture loading is a bit slow. As far as I am aware, this is due to the large textures and the world loading itself that takes up alot of space. Overall the game looks great. But I am going to get it for PC instead, since I can and it is cheaper for me :)

doesnt look too bad but there a lot of similarities with fallout universe and this game, the arc stuff and the authority are like enclave, the world is a bit more futuristic whilst fallout maintain's retro futurism. But 25 hours is too short tbh, but they should of let you at least choose whether to be female or male. Express mailbox is like the mail box in new vegas.

cool to see some ps3 footage, didn't see that a lot :D even though texture quality is quite variable, the ammount of diffrent objects is amazing. a lot of games repeat textures and objects a lot more lol. also didn't notice that much pop-in, unlike some other open world games. and keeping in mind that this is 60fps, that's pretty darn impressive. the only other game this can be compared to graphically is cod. and god this beats the living shit out of it.. and some 30fps games

I'm a bit dissapointed about the texture quality and amount of pop-up. How is the framerate? Is it at a constant 60fps? From the looks of this video there are noticeable drops and a very small amount of screen-tearing, but that could just be youtube.

I can't seem to find any 360 gameplay to compare, but I'd rather play this on my PS3 anyway. All in all I think it looks great, but no where near as good as I had hyped myself to believe :/

@konsolkongendk you should NEVER get hyped for a game. look at all the butthurt people that are disappointed now by the battlefield 3 beta. they look at it as if it's the final game :/ i went in it with no opinion at all, and i love the beta :D about the frame rate, i read something REALLY weird about rage once, don't remember where, but summary was that if the frames are about to drop a lot, the resolution drops, which would make frame drop less. anyway for a 60fps game, rage looks good

Textures look poor compared to other games on the market. I have also seen loads of Poppings ( Example on what i mean = 8:38-8:39 Quad Bike ) theres quite a bit of Screen-Tearing from whats being shown on the video as well.( Example on what i mean = 11:55-11:56 top of screen ). You can see this throughout the gameplay.
