i was at this show. fans got so crazy that the barricade in front of the stage broke, they had to stop laying for 25 mins or something. only played 10 songs, but it was still sick. seein them again in september this year at roseland again. if anyones going: dont break the fuckin stage!
@madwelshacre Damn, I would kill for them to come to Roseland. I'm seeing them at The Williamsburg waterfront and the next day at Gathering of the Vibes...still wish it was Roseland tho...damn!
@nyboy010101 Heh, I'm pretty sure I'm going to one of those shows but I'm not sure which yet...probably Williamsburg. This show was good and Roseland is fun but everyone in the audience went so nuts that the barricades up front kept getting knocked over and they left the stage after only ten songs. The setlist was perfect though.
OMG you guys!!! Les Claypool has 2 other side projects but Primus is still under contract to come out with an album every few years (and tour) to pay back their label.
they were broken up for a while while les did his frog brigade, oysterhead, sausage, holy mackeral and stuff like that...but they're back together now???
Their last album was "Animals should not try to act like people" released in '01 or '02. With the original line-up (Herb on drums) There was also DVD that went along with the disc... or a disc to go along with the DVD lol.
more or less, buckethead and claypool both had the same type of augmented note obsession. Hey, that type of music is it's own type... better than a bunch of the same ol blues/country/rap/rock crap in my opinion. IF yoU DOn"T/ or cannot make UP NEW musiC OF YOUR OWN, YOU haVE abSoLUTelY no ROoM tO BitCH...
Great fuckin concert, just wayyy too short. I was right on the barricade until it broke. These two drunk fags kept falling on me and one spilled his beer on me, but they got everyone got pissed off at them and eventually they got thrown to the ground and then thrown out. I had a few videos from that I haven't uploaded yet, but I will. The security gaurd was like "If I see that camera again, you're not going home with it":]
everyone just wanted them to get off the stage so they could see primus but they just kept saying, "this is the last song, i swear." And even after the crowd was getting pissed and yelling freebird they kept saying, "well i really like this song and if you dont like it, turn around or something."
but still great show other than that and the barricade breaking
Primus had to leave the stage and the stage crew made every one move to the back of the room while they fixed it. It took over 10 minutes and we deffinatly missed out on a song. But atleast they came back with a solid version of Frizzle Fry.
i have a recording from Santa Cruz when they got to the part in Groundhog's Day when quote "musically all hell is going to break loose." the barricade broke so they just did a 10 min mello while les told them to take 1 step back and the fixed it. Les is the man.
I saw them a few months ago at the Eagles Ballroom, and les didn't seem into it at all. Compared to other shows i have seen on youtube the one i saw was very dissapointing. I think ever since Les has been playing with "Jam" bands he hasn't been into their more metal/prog songs as much. Les Claypool is awsome and my favorite bassist, but he doesn't seem into it anymore. Whatever he is sweeet.
I was there. You could see him signaling for the whamola but i guess maybe the string broke or something. Although it was a good show, it was by far primus's worst and most dissapointing show. Les wasnt into it at all and an hour long set. It took me twice as long to get there as the concert itself. Or Primus was pissed off cause the crowed fucking mauled Rasputina. Anyways this song and the upright bass were the only highlights.
yea les was freakin pissed. he goes "oh i was gonna do something reaaally; something unbelievably special. but instead..." and he plays like a really generic tune. the audience loved it anyways. too bad though. that bass solo would've have been fantastic.
hahaha. So did one of my friends so I waited till everyone left and found a pair of shoes for him to wear cuz I didn't know which shoe he was missing but he wound up finding it after the concert
i was there it wqas fucking insane but it sucked caz the people were so wild that they had to tack a brake and it ended like 20 min early andles just walked off stage with out an encore or nothin. i dont plame him
what are you talking about? is it luck was the encore...do you not remember when the whole band left the stage for 3-5 minutes...and then came back out and played is it luck?
dude thanks for uploading this. i was at this show and this was by far my fav song of the night. right when they came back out for the encore i started yelling Is It Luck?! in hope of them playing it and a few seconds later les busted into it. Did you happen to record the whole show or just this song?
yes! i love you for uploading this! i was at this show and this was my fav part of the whole darn thing. when they came back fromt he encore break i said to myself come on lets get some is it luck?! and then les broke into the bass line. thank you sir.

PRIMUS SUCK!!!

hey poser, saying primus sucks means that primus is good. Its supposed to be sarcastic and ironic.
franktar887 3 years ago 3
They've since abandoned the phrase. Now to say that Primus sucks is to really say that Primus sucks.

I know, but the solo.

He said "ler" meaning the guitarist Larry La(ler)Londe, not Les.

apparently the whole barracade-falling down thing happened during american life, according to wikipedia.
bfish420 4 years ago 2
Nice video. And don't let the non-existence of the bass solo disappoint you. Les always teases the audience like that.
zangderak 4 years ago
The entire concert was jam packed with bass solos. He even performed "The Awakening" at one point
