Dying Nightmares are unpredictable, and can be really difficult to deal with... sometimes it just requires some luck, and some great timing of skills. If all else fails, there are other classes that can farm UW with alot more success...

Yes it is possible, and you have a healing skell, dunno the exact name, but it is in spawning power, get energy and health when creating spirits. With SoS you get healed for 100 hp or some. And why do you wanna kill dhuum? It is just for farming purposes. If you really want to clear the UW make a decent party.

@xenariz It is mainly for farming in HM, and in HM you cannot pull very big mobs with invici builds, or the mobs will just run away and heal up before attacking again. Best way to farm big mobs is Shadow Form w/ Sliver builds.

Time your spells, and know when to renew them. I usually try to renew Prot Spirit when its current enchantment duration is about half way, that way if it gets interruped, Prot Spirit will be recharged to renew quickly. Dont wait to renown PS when it is bout to wear off... As for Graspings, not a whole lot to do about them, but to learn some crazy timing and skills. It's not the most successful build, but definately possible and challenging. I managed to get to smites my very first try...
it's weird with this build :P Normally you want few enemies to do low damage, but for this build you NEED (relatively) many enemies with high damage :P
I like the way you handle dying nightmare, i was thinking if it would be worth putting in Weapon of Warding instead of Reversal of Damage for the underworld? Since the dying nightmares can strip Weapon of Warding(can they?)
Weapon spells cannot be removed, since they are not enchantments :) Weapon of Warding also has block, which can keep you from gaining energy or doing damage. Best thing to do is use a flatbow to pull bladed to a safe place, scan areas up top of stairs b4 pulling more, and continue. its really hard to avoid all DN's, sometimes they have late pop ups or spawn in two's. Build is definately not easy for farmin UW, possible, but a really difficult challenge.
A/E's of course are alot easier to farm UW. But of course I haven't played this game in almost a year... so not sure how A/E builds stand at this time.
Do you know anywhere else to practice this build, I cant afford the entrance to UW lol. And you should know i don't have EoTN so no places there would be good :)
NM is not recommended, and can actually be harder... Slow attacks from Bladed mean less energy gain, which can be fatal if you run out. Also, Grasping won't trigger Spirit Bond... so once VwK runs out your dead.

Basically, but again I really did it for the challenge... there are alot faster ways for farming Ectos. I did it in HM mainly because the build requires it. Spirit Bond needs to have enough damage to trigger, and the Graspings in Normal Mode don't trigger Spirit Bond, causing a major problem... death. HM is also faster because the enemies attack faster, NM is significantly slower. Again, it is all mean't for the challenge. I never farmed it enough to get the run down without dying myself...
What would you reckon the average profit of one of those runs is? And do you really have to be experienced with UW or can you learn it with some practice?
This farm is actually quite difficult with this build... You have to deal with Interrupts, Dying NIghtmares, and try to avoid Dazed from Graspings. It is really mean't for the challenge, but some more experienced players do farm it for ectos.

Another thing that could be happening, dying nightmares pretty much kill themselves. So could you just get them stripped and then just not seeing them die?

good video but i don't get how you gain health from SB when you have prot spirit on. you need to take 60 damage for SB to kick in but you take only 33...
Spirit Bond triggers before Protect Spirit, and low level armor will allow you to take 100-300 damage from hits, which is more than enough for Spirit bond to trigger. After Spirit Bond triggers, Protective Spirit reduces damage to 10% of your health. Try it out and see, Spirit Bonding builds always worked this way... enjoy.
Could try using Mindbender to help speed up your casting, only thing is you need to get the spell off without interruption. I haven't done the run enough to fully figure out how to make it more successful. Someone had told me that they figured out how to avoid most of the interruptions from graspings. They said to walk around while they are attackin you and cast spells, basically just strafe then cast or something like that. It is also good to try to learn to cast spells in between hits.
he only brought it there b/c he aggroed a dying nightmare with them and going around that NPC gets the aatxes stuck so you can kill the nightmare without dieing cause of rend enchantments

A lot of the time AVI files have an odd codec that WMM (windows movie maker) dont really understand. what usually works for me is Download Dvix and install the player, that should port the codec to windows so that it will allow you to import your movie
Well the w/rt or rt/w build is 2easy i think... rezdog I totally share your opinion... This build needs a lotta skill and xperience in UW, its not such a 12345-Ele build... You have to know manage the DNs, the interrupt and so on(well the ghostbond-bug has been nerfed now).. This is for everyone who can no play this build : train it... i know it costs a lot, but in the end, its the work worth
Damn sorry, I removed someones reply to this comment on accident. I mean't to hit reply, but hit remove instead. The person that mentioned you can still block Bladed Aatxes with the NPC. It does still work, but its not as easy as it used to be. I am guessin if you learn where and how to exactly use the NPC's, you can use them everytime. I am pretty sure what he mean't was Spirit Bond bug when he said "ghostbond". meaning that the bug was fixed.
Yeah, I just made it possible to solo HM with a Rit. It's not exactly something easy to farm, mainly just for challenge... but can be rewarding. There are some people out there that have no problems at all, I can still do a run here and there, but yeah I still use Rt/W VwK I created to farm smites for ectos. This definatley takes alot of experience and learning, and money.
got a question. Can i change reversal of damage? or do i need it? because i don;t haev nightfall, so is there any other skills in factions/prophecies that i can use instead of it?
reversal of damage is really just an extra damage spike if u just end up with 1 left on you after VWK is up, you can replace it with just about any damage effect.
Just finished my first run- A quick tip for people doing it for the first time- DON'T attack Grapsings with your staff as that'll trigger alot more interrupts
man i just hate those DN's -.- cause mostly i don't even see them coming..... also i sometimes klick on a ghost and when i cast prot spirit then it goes on the stupid ghost but you can't help me with that.... nice vid btw and ow yea i just use totem axe + droknar's restoration focus is that good?
VwK is the one skill that is more likely to get interrupted as it has 3/4 sec casting time, and the others have 1/4 casting. Try using Mindbender... all your spells get half casting times. helps alot against interruptions, if you can cast Mindbender without that itself getting interrupted.
The Aatxes in HM still turn around and run if you reach a certain point. So if a DN pops up, just run away from their original spot and they should turn around at some point. But while running, be sure to immediately cast Prot Spirit as soon as the DN strips your Enchants, then use VwK to kill the DN once you get him alone.
well ive tryed that while soloing 55 and they follow me back to the ghosts..what i ususaly do is aggro and if a DN spawns i let it strip and cast prot spirit immidialty after and then cast up BS and EB while they are attacking me..so should i do that if they dont break aggro or what..
ya, that can also work, but risky unless u know how to time spells between their interrupts. first thing you want to hit is Prot Spirit then VwK, and try to cast on Balthazar's and Essence if you can. Whatever works :)
Nah I don't, sorry. But I do use Bonus Mission Pack weapons for all my characters now. You can get all the inscribable weapons you want for free, just need to buy mods for them. Not to mention they are some really nice skins. I got the BMP for free though, it cost 10 bux now to purchase.
Yup, but it is still possible to clear them out. Either takes alil luck, or some experience dealing with them. Mindbender can be used to half casting time of all ur spells, and help against interruptions includin dazed. But you could study Graspings closely to know the timing of their interruptions.
I usually switch off my farming weapons while casting on my maintained enchantments. This is so I get the extra 1 energy regen which is lost when using "Seize The Day" inscription. It helps to fill up your energy faster when casting those enchants.
For all the weapons to use with build, go to the URL in the video info. Has all info you need. But in video, I use a Inscribable staff. But I do switch off my staff just to get extra 1 energy pip until im ready to go in and farm.
I really don't have a favorite farm spot, but there are some places that make the build shine the most... like Luxon Sins. I always changed up spots until I hit a gold mine and farm it out, then move on. I use 15AL Seitung from Monastery, and it is dyed white. Seitung armor actually looks better than most max armor, and almost looks like it would be ascended armor.
lol 0:32-1:07 the aaxte is just standing there. good build, i wud replace reversal and retribution with sumthing like ancestor's rage and spirit rift and move all the points from smiting into channeling.
Make sure your in HM. Taking Smiting away would remove the whole point of the build. And ancestor's would cost alot more energy to keep using it over and over. So, getting that extra 10 damage a hit from Retribution can add up to alot over time, and don't cost you no energy. It does take 2 or 3 VwK usages to kill off acouple Aatxes, since they have alot of health. But sounds like to me your are tryin to use it in Normal Mode, which is wicked slow because they attack slower.
this is build is harder to control then the w/rt build but can kill alot more variety of monsters. It needs some time to get used to but i see the this can really be a good money maker
Yeah I guess they did, I haven't been in UW for along time... so I wasn't sure. But it is still possible to farm. All I did was pull the bladed to a point where they turn around, then take one step towards them to get them to attack again... this way you can step back and loose aggro if you need to. But I killed all the Aatxes on top of steps, and in the middle... but then as I was scanning for Nightmares, three of them suckahz popped up and killed me... next time i will jus run away.
it IS nerfed ! ghostbond just works if you take 60 dmg.... but with 330hp and ps you just take 33... and if it would work again, the aatxes interrupt vengefulwas khanei.... so its not able to farm them with VwK anyway
It can farm UW, not sure what you mean. You can kill Bladed Aatxes fairly easy if when you learn how to deal with them. You have to learn how to deal with their interrupts, but that is all explained in my guru build thread.
This is a common misbelieve. spiritbond triggers when an attack would hit you for at least 60dmg but prot spirit can reduce that amount and spiritbond would still heal you. it would work on a 55hp monk as well.
Yeah, it ain't nerfed... just been changed, as you can't really body block the Aatxes with NPC's anymore... unless you need to find a really good precise spot to do so.
u can still do everything, i've been doing it everyday for the past 2 weeks. i do like 1 run a day. the npc block still works perfectly with proper pulling

Works Perfectly i used to solo uw with dervish or ele so with a bit of concentration graspings are no problem at all careful-spam is the word to keep ur energy up but thats it. THX

I haven't done the run enough to fully figure out how to make it more successful. Someone had told me that they figured out how to avoid most of the interruptions from graspings. They said to walk around while they are attackin you and cast spells, basically just strafe then cast or something like that. It is also good to try to learn to cast spells in between hits.

he only brought it there b/c he aggroed a dying nightmare with them and going around that NPC gets the aatxes stuck so you can kill the nightmare without dieing cause of rend enchantments

A lot of the time AVI files have an odd codec that WMM (windows movie maker) dont really understand. what usually works for me is Download Dvix and install the player, that should port the codec to windows so that it will allow you to import your movie

Well the w/rt or rt/w build is 2easy i think... rezdog I totally share your opinion... This build needs a lotta skill and xperience in UW, its not such a 12345-Ele build... You have to know manage the DNs, the interrupt and so on(well the ghostbond-bug has been nerfed now).. This is for everyone who can no play this build : train it... i know it costs a lot, but in the end, its the work worth

Damn sorry, I removed someones reply to this comment on accident. I mean't to hit reply, but hit remove instead. The person that mentioned you can still block Bladed Aatxes with the NPC. It does still work, but its not as easy as it used to be. I am guessin if you learn where and how to exactly use the NPC's, you can use them everytime. I am pretty sure what he mean't was Spirit Bond bug when he said "ghostbond". meaning that the bug was fixed.

Yeah, I just made it possible to solo HM with a Rit. It's not exactly something easy to farm, mainly just for challenge... but can be rewarding. There are some people out there that have no problems at all, I can still do a run here and there, but yeah I still use Rt/W VwK I created to farm smites for ectos. This definatley takes alot of experience and learning, and money.

reversal of damage is really just an extra damage spike if u just end up with 1 left on you after VWK is up, you can replace it with just about any damage effect.

Just finished my first run- A quick tip for people doing it for the first time- DON'T attack Grapsings with your staff as that'll trigger alot more interrupts

VwK is the one skill that is more likely to get interrupted as it has 3/4 sec casting time, and the others have 1/4 casting. Try using Mindbender... all your spells get half casting times. helps alot against interruptions, if you can cast Mindbender without that itself getting interrupted.

what do u do if ur on the grp of ataxxes that is in the middle of the chamber, and a DN pops up? u cant rly run in HM so..yea how does that work?

The Aatxes in HM still turn around and run if you reach a certain point. So if a DN pops up, just run away from their original spot and they should turn around at some point. But while running, be sure to immediately cast Prot Spirit as soon as the DN strips your Enchants, then use VwK to kill the DN once you get him alone.

well ive tryed that while soloing 55 and they follow me back to the ghosts..what i ususaly do is aggro and if a DN spawns i let it strip and cast prot spirit immidialty after and then cast up BS and EB while they are attacking me..so should i do that if they dont break aggro or what..

ya, that can also work, but risky unless u know how to time spells between their interrupts. first thing you want to hit is Prot Spirit then VwK, and try to cast on Balthazar's and Essence if you can. Whatever works :)

Reversal of Fortune will keep them healed from damage. You can try it and see, it still works, but seems slower and alot more risky.

Nah I don't, sorry. But I do use Bonus Mission Pack weapons for all my characters now. You can get all the inscribable weapons you want for free, just need to buy mods for them. Not to mention they are some really nice skins. I got the BMP for free though, it cost 10 bux now to purchase.

Yup, but it is still possible to clear them out. Either takes alil luck, or some experience dealing with them. Mindbender can be used to half casting time of all ur spells, and help against interruptions includin dazed. But you could study Graspings closely to know the timing of their interruptions.

I usually switch off my farming weapons while casting on my maintained enchantments. This is so I get the extra 1 energy regen which is lost when using "Seize The Day" inscription. It helps to fill up your energy faster when casting those enchants.

For all the weapons to use with build, go to the URL in the video info. Has all info you need. But in video, I use a Inscribable staff. But I do switch off my staff just to get extra 1 energy pip until im ready to go in and farm.

I really don't have a favorite farm spot, but there are some places that make the build shine the most... like Luxon Sins. I always changed up spots until I hit a gold mine and farm it out, then move on. I use 15AL Seitung from Monastery, and it is dyed white. Seitung armor actually looks better than most max armor, and almost looks like it would be ascended armor.

lol 0:32-1:07 the aaxte is just standing there. good build, i wud replace reversal and retribution with sumthing like ancestor's rage and spirit rift and move all the points from smiting into channeling.

Make sure your in HM. Taking Smiting away would remove the whole point of the build. And ancestor's would cost alot more energy to keep using it over and over. So, getting that extra 10 damage a hit from Retribution can add up to alot over time, and don't cost you no energy. It does take 2 or 3 VwK usages to kill off acouple Aatxes, since they have alot of health. But sounds like to me your are tryin to use it in Normal Mode, which is wicked slow because they attack slower.

this is build is harder to control then the w/rt build but can kill alot more variety of monsters. It needs some time to get used to but i see the this can really be a good money maker

Yeah I guess they did, I haven't been in UW for along time... so I wasn't sure. But it is still possible to farm. All I did was pull the bladed to a point where they turn around, then take one step towards them to get them to attack again... this way you can step back and loose aggro if you need to. But I killed all the Aatxes on top of steps, and in the middle... but then as I was scanning for Nightmares, three of them suckahz popped up and killed me... next time i will jus run away.

it IS nerfed ! ghostbond just works if you take 60 dmg.... but with 330hp and ps you just take 33... and if it would work again, the aatxes interrupt vengefulwas khanei.... so its not able to farm them with VwK anyway

It can farm UW, not sure what you mean. You can kill Bladed Aatxes fairly easy if when you learn how to deal with them. You have to learn how to deal with their interrupts, but that is all explained in my guru build thread.

This is a common misbelieve. spiritbond triggers when an attack would hit you for at least 60dmg but prot spirit can reduce that amount and spiritbond would still heal you. it would work on a 55hp monk as well.

Yeah, it ain't nerfed... just been changed, as you can't really body block the Aatxes with NPC's anymore... unless you need to find a really good precise spot to do so.

Wow nice build right there i never played a Ritualist but as i saw ur vid i instantly played one through Factions to try this out. Works Perfectly i used to solo uw with dervish or ele so with a bit of concentration graspings are no problem at all careful-spam is the word to keep ur energy up but thats it. THX
