the only reason it left a creater the size of earth is because jupiter has more gravity and is a lot denser but yes if something that big hit us not much would be left.

Jupider is a Gas not a solid planet. so it is not "denser" as you say. Earth would be left, only unable to support life on a large scale. Bacteria would survive.

Actually it happens a lot, but most of them are just tiny meteorites that hit earth so they don't cause much trouble.
