  • Just for clarity's sake...In case ppl care: The CD "Ojibwe: Waasa Inaabidaa" is a soundtrack for a documentary series of the same title. Peter Buffett produced the CD and composed the music that connects the original Ojibwe musician's recordings. This song here is from 2 excellent & respected singers from the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, Pete Gahbow & Lisa Jackson. Peter Buffett didn't compose what they are singing - he wrote the accompaniment. Just so y'all understand that.

I am looking for Native musical artists to air on my show. I play anything from Traditional to Contemporary style music.

  • Could someone tell me if the terms Ojibwe, Ashinabe, and Chippewa are used interchangably for the same people group?

    I love this melody. Is it written down somewhere so that I could teach the melody?

  • @cageymama yes i know Ojibwe and chippewa are the same Chippewa is used more in USA and Ojibwe in Canada , but in both countrys Anishinaabe is coming more common thats about all i can say
