The gentleman in this video is the perfect example of the people who should get a hair transplant because they're really good candidates for a transplant. He has great coverage in the back and an overall FULL head of hair except for the little thinning in the front that has already been taken care of. Well done, Dr. Lam.
Dr Lam, is it possible for a doctor to see exactly how much more hair a person is going to lose? The reason why i'm asking is because if i'm going to lose, like, 90% of my hair, then i don't want a transplant because i will never have a FULL head of hair because of the lack of donor hair. In my opinion, it makes no sense to me when people pay so much to just have a little hair on top. I just wish i can find an honest doctor that tells me the truth about my degree of hair loss (in the long run).
@rob5hh yes, i understand your point. in general, i do not like to transplant someone if i cannot close the whole head. the way that i estimate or predict this is based on your age, degree of loss, how much donor density you have. based on this i can get a pretty good prediction (not perfect but good to very good idea) whether i can close everything and keep you that way with possible further sessions. that is why you have to find an experienced physician.
@rob5hh someone in his early 20s for example who is rapidly losing hair will most likely not be able to be closed given his age. someone who is 40 something with good donor density can be closed even with more extensive loss. a lot of factors must be put together when i make that decision.
hi im 14 and i have had alopecia for bout 2 1/2 years now. i want to get hair transplants but my doctor said if i did tht the white blood cells would just attack the new hair and cause it to fall out :[ is tht true??? please message me back answering my question. thank you
@samlammd i still have hair but im noticebly thin i use toppik and it works great but iif i still have hair would hair grafts be good for me is it less exspensive to get a little at a time or are there any thing that would slow it down thanks for the vid
@smiylley17 yes, hair transplants are permanent. however, if you are young in your early to mid twenties for example then it may not be safe. if you do not understand that type in "young men safety hair transplant" and you should probably have my video pop up on that subject.
is it just me or does everyone else notice the before pictures are always lit up good. and the after pictures are alwys dark. is it becaust they dont want you to see that the victim ends up looking like a porcupine. LOL!!!!!!!!!
that is funny. i shot the videos in the same room. if you go to my before and afters on my hairtx site you will see the photos are rigorously controlled for lighting. the videos are shot in the same room but the light mount is not as controlled as far as distance compared with my clinical photography. if you want to see a porcupine take a look at my website for a plug correction in 1080i HD. that will blow your mind.
