I ask myself why these amateurs are doing tests. It is just useless and a waste of time watching this YouTube nonsense not even good for a comedy show. You have no idea how to test a product in a genuine scientific matter. This is just a typical YouTube BlaBlaBla without any value for anyone. Get a life and do something that is professional.
Super!
Man for $100 bucks 96k/24bit..can't go wrong. Back in 2001 I paid $1200 for an alesis masterlink. However: i do realize it has XLR in and out, But for home use this thing is awesome.
@techtomorrow How far away were you sitting from the H1? Would it pick up my voice well from about 6ft. away, max? Would it pick up any background noises as well (I'd be using it outside). Thanks!
@LightScribe1029 Ya, it can pick up pretty good. It could pick up a converstaion being held in a room across the hallway from you. Even if your door was closed.
Hi well as you had both the H1 and H2 what do you recommend I use the canon 550D / T2i and will use the same for simple youtube recording indoors really dont like the onboard 550D mic.
Is it possible to use the Zoom H1 as an external Mic for the TM700(or any other camcoder) ,which works like the Rode video mic or the azden? considering the Zoom H1 seems to have a decent microphone , and if it can also be used as a direct input mic (which records directly on the camcoder) that would be an awesome thing to have for 100$.
@TechShin hey i got a d3100 aswell and was thinking about getting the h1. but do you have the h1 connected 2 ur 3100 or do you have the internal mic off and then just sync the audio to video later? also do you need any accessories to mount on the camera?
I wish you could have posted the posted the Frequency Range for the Mic. Great video and great sound by the way, It could be nice to hear a test outside say for ambient noise tracks for low budget films. I was using two Shure PG 58's, their good but not really boom mics like I was using them for.
@KMM747 Hahahaha, yeah like the HD4890 black edition or something =)
Good video Elric, those accents at the end are so cheesy but funny =P
I think the Zoom H1 is brilliant, so clear compared to the other one but is 99 dollars expensive for a mic? it must depend what and how much your going to use it, would be great for you because you make vids all the time but for a person who just makes a vid now and again not so nice.
What the duece!!? (@>@)

can I connect the H1 directly to the canon 60D, so it can be use as an external mic like a rhode video mic
openbeta843 9 months ago
@openbeta843 yes, the H1 has a mini-jack. All you need is a male-to-male mini-jack cable.

Man, what a difference the Zoom H1 makes. I have a Nikon D3100 and I just got a Zoom H1 for mounting on the hotshoe. H1 definitely sounds amazing!
