Isn't Goku stronger than Vegeta because he almost died all those times fighting king piccolo and the red ribbon army? He has been saving the earth ever since he was a kid. Also, he was born with a power level of 2; you can't get much lower than that.

Vegeta should have been the saviour at least once. He's the best character ever, he always trained so hard and so much that no one else, except for goku, could compete with him. Gohan had the natural born talent for fighting from Goku and still was the saviour at least once against cell. That's the completelly opposite of what should be learned by kids: talent should never have more attention than hard work.

@Skilbc You may not have like GT but I think the moment he should have achieved ssj4 was when he was fighting super 17 and instead of Goku defeating him Vegeta should have been the one to defeat him. That way they could showcase final shine and ssj4 for Vegeta in one episode. He was one of my favorite characters. If you notice he just about saved the day every time, examples Goku vs Buu without Vegeta no spirit bomb, gohan vs cell without Vegeta Gohan would have lost. Vegeta was very important.

@Skilbc Vegeta was a savior, much like a dark knight. Anyone with a IQ above 60 should see that. He saved Goku from Frieza, in a way. By speaking and telling him of the pride of his people. Striking goku's heart like no other had. He pushed goku to his limits making him stronger when him and nappa came to earth. He saved goku against the androids. Even self sacrificing himself to "save" the planet. Yeah, a fruitless attempt, but only one other person ever did that in the show.

Its got over 67 thousand views you would think it would be better than just images from the show playing over again with music in the background.
