In continuity it varies. Generally Starscream is just too valuable and survival of the fittest is part of the Decepticon creed: Megatron needs Starscream to shoot down stupid ideas/flaws in plans, etc. and if Megatron is too weak to handle betrayal, Megatron justifies being betrayed.

Chris Latta was great, but could get pretty annoying after a while. Michael Dobson was okay I guess. Charles Adler was really awesome cool, you certainly buy the ass-kissing part and he really sounds like a coward when speaking to Megatron. Tom Kenny was pretty cool, but like Chris Latta he could get a bit annoying. Steve Blum was perfect, he sounds sinister, he sounds like a plotter, he can sound like an ass-kisser, and like Adler he sounds like coward when Megatron is around, he's got it all.

I think the voices of G1, Armada, Cybertron, Energon and TF:Animated Starscream show him more as an insane and devious little asshole.

But when you watch TF:Prime, you may see a... somehow new but awesome one! There he gets a really evil touch (even if he's still a little coward), Steve Blum has just begun a new era of the evil knievel Screamer. :D

Actually, most of those voices were pretty good choices. When it switches from Armada to Cybertron, though, it doesn't show the voice actor's name, there. :S Was that a glitch, or was it the same voice for Armada and Energon Starscream as well? (I already see why you don't mention Energon; I read the posts. I'm just wondering who did the Cybertron SS voice).

I list every potrayel of a certain voice actor. Cept for Energon of which you already read in the discription, and TF2&2, since the movies weren't out then on DVD. And Prime which has a season finale tomorrow.
