The Panasonic tv itself upconverts 2D to 3D. The guy in this video says that the Panasonic Blu Ray player upconverts normal Blu Rays into 3D which is great because there weren't that many 3D titles in March of last year.
I like 3D tv's but I think I'll wait for the Auto 3D tv's to come out. Auto3D is short for Autostereoscopy, which means you don't have to wear, or buy the glasses. There are already some Auto 3D tv's on the market but not very many yet.
@rtb1980 the problem with auto3d is that it currently uses headtracking so pretty much one person per tv. there are multi view auto3d displays but the more people you add in the more degraded the quality becomes... i suppose thats fine for a computer monitor or something but for large scale viewing it seems this is the way the market is going.

@Cjayasdassdas this tv plays all 2D channels and dvds etc.. like any regular 2D tv and in much better picture quality, and plays 3D channels too.
