The US Government can request any information from any American company and they have to supply it regardless if doing so would break the law of another nation the company may have offices in.

Amendments to the UK Census Act in 2007 also allows the UK to sell / give the information to EU states and private companies, even tho repeatedly they say the wont .... they "legaly" can... and will.
