I have this amazing black lace my grandma gave me. I want to make something awesome out of it but I cant decide what to make! I was thinking gloves, do you have a tutorial for making gloves?
Something I have learned in the long time I have been with you, threadbanger, is that everything seen on here can be used in a different way. I'm not such a big fan of that dress being right below the boobline, but I just realized that would be ridiculously cute as a strapless short dress! The tutorials you guys have are so versatile, I'm really happy with it because everything can be personalized.
If I wasn't a fatty I'd totally make that skirt - sadly it definately isn't a skirt someone with a tummy could ever wear coz it'd just emphasise it. Maybe if I ever lose some weight (HA!) I'll make one, but I'll definately choose a different colour for the zipper. I think black would have looked much better.
nor is it the right design for someone with a huge bubble butt and fatty hips, like mine D:
but that high, lacy waistline looks fantastic, and could work paired with other stuff for me. deffinatly inspirational, great job! yeah i'd change the zipper color too ^^
noticing rob's awesome jacket... didn't the guy who designed that go on threadbanger one time? I'm fairly sure he did. he's amazing, I found out about him through the Used.
Also, I think that skirt would look better as a dress but its a totally modifiable tutorial, so cool. if only i had some materials..... ugh and too busy to go get any
ok-- question for you guys. I'm making my homecoming dress, and its all going fine and dandy and turning out beautiful, but I want to make a flower for my hair out of the extra fabric. I've been experimenting with wire, and I just am not accomplishing anything with it, which is what I want to use to form the flower. Is there any way you can give me a tip or suggestion that will make it easier for me? You guys are awesome.
how can I modify my fitted tees without much sewing? I can only do very limited hand sewing. I don't want to make tee shirts I just want to dress up old ones to add some flare
Wow =D guys your so creative i love you So much.I think that your sending a message to us ''Recycle whateva you got''. T_T luv ya keep up the good work.
Nice dress, but.. whoa, NEW fabric? What happened to re-purposing something from the thrift store? You could use an old skirt from the thrift store, tear out the seams, trim and re-sew!
well of couse you should repurpose if when you can, but if there's a specific color, pattern, of or fabric you want to use, then why not go out an buy it? DIY doesn't isn't make of of just repurposing. you have to spend SOME coin eventually if you want a certain look. the main thing is, a couple yards of new fabric is still hundreds of dollars cheaper than anything you get on the runway.
I like the design of the skirt, but I think a black zipper with silver teeth would have looked nicer instead of that yellowish tan zipper . . . I would actually wear something like that, and I don't usually wear skirts. :D
I really like that skirt. I couldn't pull that off, I'm a little to hippy for it. But, I definatly got some inspiration for a skirt to flatter me. Thanks guys!!!

True! I might alter it so that its more of an A line skirted short dress. Might stick with the palette but maybe with a gray zipper.

OMG. i will sooooooo try out that one.

Rob and Corrin,
loved the pins you used for the skirt. just wondering where you bought them, or how you made them. Thanks
SelfproclaimedPoser 3 years ago 2
I have the same pins, I actually found mine at walgreens... (of all places) maybe you could check there.
