what a life this is. I don't have to forage for food, got my own pond and i don't have to watch out for jaguars. Thank you so much for adopting me and bringing me to Hollywood
@bkatt500 His pool is 9' x 18' x 4.5' which is big enough. You could probably go with a little smaller. They need something fairly deep because they swim underwater.
He is house trained. He uses as bowl of water in the bathroom that I dump into the toilet after use.
His teeth are big. LOL I've been bit by mice and rabbits and the rabbit really hurt! I hate to think what a bite from Caplin could do. XD But he sure is cute!
I'd pet him but carefully. lol. I love watching him swim.
He has bitten and he is very smart. You can learn more about him on his blog. The url is in the video description.
Caplin is normally very, very friendly. I take him all over and he meets literally hundreds of people and is always friendly. At home he can get a little territorial.
He generally gets along with dogs when we see them out and about town. Only one has ever come to visit him and that was a long time ago. He gets along with rabbits. I think the issue is more will the dog get along with him?
There is a little chlorine otherwise the pool would go green in a day. He only spends about 1 hour per day in the pool so it's not like he's in it all the time.
In general, he makes an excellent pet but he does require a lot more attention than a dog or a cat. If you read the channel home page, there's more information about him there.
We do keep a low level of chlorine in it. He is only in the pool about 1-2 hours per day. Luckily it's a small pool so we are able to drain it occasionally.
Caplin does not defecate in the pool, although he does always poop in the water. He has a little water bowl that he uses. He's a very clean little animal.
if this doesn't make you want a Capybara I don't know what would

To the Moderator:
I think it's fair to say Caplin Rous is the most famous and popular rodent
in the USA next to Mickey Mouse.
So, has his celebrity status changed him in any way?
Has he made any diva like demands?
Should we worry about him becoming a Lindsay Lohan-type?
wheelinthesky300 1 year ago
@wheelinthesky300 It is hard to imagine an animal more demanding than Caplin Rous but this attitude predates his fame.

he sounds like a cricket
they are grazing animals, right? so i guess you just need lots of salad for him to eat

it a hamster mated with a horse, this is what you would have i think.
you would have to make sure the mother was the horse though. If the mother was the hamster at about 2 months you would have an explosion. lol

Lols. You should bring caplin where I live and teach him to be a service animal, then give it to my mom. She would freak :)
