This film screened the life of Slum dwellers. They were poor then, they are still poor. But the picturisation in this movie is very close to reality, and the picturisation in Slum Dog is just selling poverty, glamourising
Six decades have passed since this slogan , practically nothing has changed. The dreams of a young India , fresh after independence, with hopes and aspirations touching the skies, are still only dreams. The generation that sang this song , have even grown old and their children have also become adults. The fistful of dreams have evaporated. What a tragedy! Rampant poverty and corruption reigns supreme. As such this is also true of the third world. Let us pray at least for a better future.TNX
after listening this song i think this new generation lost its path in search of development. what the dream in 1953 and what the dream in 2011? it totally against to each other.
A very positive song. But coming from slum dwelling orphans, with hardly any future prospects, it gives a touch of pathos. I do not think this should be called a "children's song".
@psuhaskhan I agree this is picturised in children but it should have been guiding song for our leaders and officialdom who have broken all dreams, expectations which general Indian had in 1950's 60's and to some extent in 70's. The mad race of chair, power and money unleashed after death of Lal Bahadur Shashtri, and failure of nationalist leaders to take the lead is the cause
