I was born breech and my brother was born with 'macrosomia' weighing 10 lbs 6 oz. He also had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. My poor mom had to have 2 C-sections'
ahaha i was born with my feet coming out first lml i came out 8lbs, 8 oz. i guess i was to stubborn to spin and i needed to stretch after 9 months ! lol
This is practically propaganda!! They want us to be afraid of natural birth so that they can do unnecessary medical procedures...why?......MORE MONEY!!!!! Doctors are being pushed by the insurance companies...do some research people, educate yourselves and prevent yourself from being brain-washed and ignorant!!
If proper research is done on birth, almost everything this 'doctor' has said is totally untrue and unnecessary... I don't even know where to begin!!!
a great way to inform becoming parents "on the basis of fear" what all can go wrong... this guy does not really seem to be a real doctor but rather like some one that comes out of a casting agency!
I want to get to know you, as we are here for the same reason - to find our other halves. I'm trying to do it. May be we have found each other? My name is biis, I'm a cheerful and sociable young lady. I can say I'm almost a happy person: I have many hobbies and interests, I like to hang out with my friends, go for a walk or to a party+ and sometimes just have rest with a good book or watching an interesting movie+ Did you notice a word "almost"?Yes, it's so because to be fully happy I need
I really dislike the way they label large babies as "having" macrosomia. Sounds like a disease, but I guess that's not surprising since that's how many doctors tend to view pregnancy and childbirth. I have given birth to five babies at home. One baby was 10lbs, 8 oz, and another was 11 lbs. 8oz. Not bragging and I would rather have slightly smaller babies, but I just want to encourage women out there that it can be done.
i would like very much.. to do pre natal massage. and turn the baby inside her. and maybe mount her as well. pregnancy is just completely awe striking to me.
@Ignotech My cousin recently gave birth to a baby whos 10 pounds 11. It was her first baby and it took her 2 1/2 days to finally have him delivered but it was done naturally. However, c-section was an option if the baby became stressed.
Just wanted to add on to your comment and let others know that its quite hard and a scary thought but you can have normal births. I have others in my family and friends who have had normal births with larger weight babies. Good Luck to those mums! :D
One other thing... fetal distress can be caused by pitocin, laying flat on your back/limiting your positions, mother's tension caused by her environment... etc. Funny that sometimes the medical interventions/methods can be the CAUSE of fetal distress.

macrosomia is defined as a babe over 8.13 lbs not over 9.15 lbs. also one slide has the sacrum labeled as the pubic bone. fail this professor.

Seems to me the Doctors he was refering are all for c sections. I believe this makes them lazy and / or incompetant.

Gestational diabetes was never diagnosed. Yes, that definitely is a concern with having large babies.
