I think you dont know that Vista is actually slower without Aero, since Windows standard theme has no hardware acceleration which gives Vista its speed

Vista and Seven are the same speed with or without Aero turned on unless your using a discrete video card. "Hardware acceleration" is in terms of the GPU offloading the GUI off the CPU. Nothing else.

It has nothing to do with making your OS run any faster.

you will also notice that the fps difference of a dual core compared to a quad core at the same speeds is the dual will be about 15fps slower.

main about quad cores:

most games don't even support 4 let alone utilize 4 cores fully.. quads only shine in rendering and synthetics; like 3Dmark.
