Coming from an Ohio State fan... I respect the Naval Academy more than any program or school in the country. They arent playing for scouts theyre just having fun before they go out to serve our country as a Marine officer or in the Navy. They get up at 5, go to class, then football and I think they still do PT in addition to football right? And even though they dont recruit the best athletes out of highschool they are still one of the best teams, not on paper but they work so so hard.

Actually, as I understand it, the song was originally written precisely to be a college fight song for the Academy. It was changed extensively and added on to so that it would better represent the entire Navy.

It's getting more representative with time.

I have always hated the college version of this song. I like the enlisted one we sang in boot camp better.

I dont like the college one because it cheapens the Navy down to a college ball game. While a majority of those in the Navy havent graduated from college. They are in to get the GI bill to GO.
