The more you listen to U2 songs, if you are truly a U2 fan, they will grow on you and you can't get them out of your head. My wife did not like NLOTH when it first came out. I knew better. Now she craves it. I'm starting to appreciate some songs from vertigo that I didn't really care for when they first came out. Also, listen to "your so cruel" from Achtung Baby. Incredible lyrics. Listen to it about ten times and on the 11th crank up the volume and sing it!
I've listened to every song on this cd hundreds of times, definately the best cd, in my opinion, ever made by U2. The popular ones are obvious but how about "trying to throw your arms around the world?" Or, "Love is blindness" The lyrics are so incredible, and then to put it in these great songs is just beautiful!
'Moment of Surrender' is a song of amazing scope and depth that plumbs the depth of soul, and "vision over visiblity" is one of my favorite lines on NLOTH. When Bono knelt he embodied what the song captures in a profoundly powerful way. It was a beautiful way to close the concert. Every U2 song has meaning which is only heightened by where in the setlist it's placed, which compells the listener to embark on a journey if they have the eyes and ears to their heart open...I was utterly humbled.

studio version is great, but it sucks big time live. I've been to 3 shows in Europe (Dublin, Amsterdam and Gelsenkirchen) and every time it was a disappointment. Vocals are ok, but the instruments sound distant, not connected to the song. It's absolutely not suited for a stadium gig.
Hey, give me all the "thumbs downs" you want, but I've seen them 28 times since '86 and have been a U2 nutcase since '83, but the new album is, except a few tracks, just awful.
Having said that, No Line, Magnificent and Moment of Surrender sounded fantastic, love.
haha i remember how half of the "fans" watched the bears game. like if you went and you stuck to the concert!

I don't like the new album at all, but this song was gorgeous. Brilliant. What a great ending to a beautiful night.
