The Trivium cover of 'Master Of Puppets' isnt better than the original, its the same for AFI's 'My Michelle', Dynamite Boy's 'TNT', Plain White T's 'Song 2', It Dies Today's 'Enjoy The Silence', Avenged Sevenfold's 'Walk', KoRn's 'Creep', The Blackout's 'My Generation' etc etc

There are some covers which are better, but honestly, it's just an opinion which differs per person.

Have you ever heard of Li Jie, or Mina Kitamura? They are both very, very talented musicians, MILES ahead of Epica, but I think Epica's better. @arturesteve Because Epica like to push their own boundaries with their covers and try new things, but seem to prefer a natural progression as far as their written material goes.

I would honestly hate if Epica started sounding like this regularly, yes it's a fantastic and interesting cover but it doesn't have the charm and atmosphere that I know Epica by. I love that they break out of their style with covers, though. Gives you a fresh new perspective regarding their capabilities.

Why this is what heavy metal is about. It's fast, heavy, melodic, and everthing in between. With Isaac Delahaye and Ariën van Weesenbeek both writing stuff for the new album you are going to get stuff that is very close to melodic death metal to.

Well, when a famous band remakes a song of another one, the result is something completely new. I like this sound of Epica a lot. It seams to me a very good job. Just Simone voice is sufficient to give it a totally new fashion and attractiveness.
