What an inspiring and brave movement!Not all Arabs are Muslim, not all Muslims are terrorists. I have been to some Arab countries and intend to visit Jordan next year. I love the language, I love the culture and history. Some of my best friends are Palestinian Arab and I have learnt so by travelling to the Arab countries. I only wish it was easier for them to see our western countries as we both have so much to learn from each other. I do hope that womens rights improve in our lifetime.

I don't think Hindus should be talking about treatment of women. Women suffer the worst treatment in Hindu religion which is still prevalant in the rural areas of India. Indian woman whose husband dies from an accident is told that she has brought bad luck and thus many times she is told to jump into a water well and commit suicide. For what it's worth, I agree with you that U.S. foreign policy is suboptimal. But that does NOT justify someone like Samir Kuntar shooting a little girl's father in the head before her eyes and then bashing her head against a rock until she died. The difference is that there is clear opposition WITHIN our own country to the direction our leaders have taken foreign policy, while a child murderer was welcomed home as a hero when Israel traded him away. I have high hopes for Turkey as well. It seems that when an individual submits his "free will" to religion, once the state represents the religion, the will of man also submits to the state to some degree. This leads to a degenerate form of dictatorship. The ties between state and religion must be broken, but unfortunately many Muslims feel that a "good" state will represent the religion in totality.
