Awesome I Love PITT AND IM ONLY 13 My sisters going there this fall CANT WAIT FOR HER TO GET ME SOME SEATS IN the student section at football and the zoo at bball!!!
After four of the previous five going to WVU, I have to say that a Pitt win in such a fashion DID make things more interesting. There's always the chance that WVU had an "off" day, but there's also the chance that Pitt is genuinely getting better. Judging from the outcome, I'd say both happened on 1 December 2007. And that just makes for a more exciting series.
yeah, I guess thats why they play the game! PITTS defense was all over our shit that night, That game hurt me deeply, espescially right now as I watch two teams play in the national championship, and know that WVU would run all over both of them! grrrrrrr!
Great video! Since Dave Wannstedt has being recruiting so very well, in 2008, Pitt will start being a regular in bowl games. Don't forget that 2008 will be Wanny's fourth season, so it will be the first season where the majority of the team will be composed of players that HE recruited. Also, do they play Navy on the road in 2008? If so, I recommend you come to the game. Annapolis is a beautiful town, and I say that Pitt would get revenge in a big way. Amen?
To tell you the truth, the future looks very good for the entire Big East, which, IMHO, is the most underrated conference in America. And, I say that everyone except for 'Cuse goes bowling next season.
Do I thank you guys for helping us Wolverines get Rich Rod? Or do I shudder in fear of upsets and losses to our archrivals? I like to think two things:
1) #2 WVU's loss was consistent with the tone of the upset-laden season.
2) Pitt pulled together and pulled off a 1969-Michigan-esque upset over its rival.
Odd how a couch burned in the middle of a street in Morgantown is a crime-yet-furniture burned in the middle of the street in Pittsburgh is a "celebration". F'n hypocrites.
Oh, no, it's still a crime. Things did get a bit crazy, and I believe the police cited those involved in the chair-burning... but since it wasn't getting out-of-hand, they let them have their fun first.
Thanks, tjtrumpet. I was referring to the way WTAE and other stations reported it. In a story after the brawl they reported 13 dumpster fires at WVU (everyone knows they burn couches, not dumpsters!). Then they spoke of past couch fires and arrests. Two seconds later, they show the Pitt "celebration" which was obviously a furniture fire in the middle of the street and call it a "celebration" and said there were "no arrests". That is where "hypocrit" came from. Peace, and see you in bball!
Agreed. There's way too much prejudice and stereotyping going both ways, but I especially feel bad for you guys. It's sad that such bias has leaked into certain media, but alas, it's a Pittsburgh station, so what can we do?
I'm very much looking forward to seeing many exciting games between our schools' teams in the future.
it doesnt look like a riot yet cuz she left before we set the chair on fire and people were breakin shit off the cars parked along the street.. like she said, it became insane after she left!... what a night!!!!!!!!
But yes, I have seen other videos, both on and off YouTube, chronicling some more wild things. Still, the police didn't have to resort to drastic measures to maintain order, so this wasn't a "riot," per se. But if that's as close as I ever get to a riot, it's fine with me.
Riot..Riot..WHAT RIOT??? This was a celebration, no overturned cars , no tear gas , no rubber bullets, no broken windows . What RIOT?? Looks like a happy enthusiastic crowd. Anyone who thinks this is a riot needs a reality check. Looks to me like a lot of school spirit and pride. PITT A Great University in A Great City.
Congratulations to Pitt and Wanny on a great win. They came in with a great game plan and worked it brilliantly. That is, play great defense and run a smashmouth, running, grind-it-out offense which gets yards, scores points, eats up a lot of clock, and keeps their defense fresh while keeping the other team's powerful offense off the field. Although Pitt won't go bowling, this will give them a lot of momentum and confidence going into next season.
Aside from a little furniture burning, looks like a pretty reasonable celebration. Good job Pitt students for not getting too out of control. If WVU had won, that whole campus would probably have burned. HAIL TO PITT!!!
oh the 2009 version is now here and thanks to the great Pitt fans (they returned around 3,000 tickets) i'll be there.
