listening to this at night before I sleep, eyes closed, seated in my chair. This is one of the best experiences I have ever had. This stuff could probably cure cancer if you gave it a chance.
Listening to this perfect rendition of Yaman umpteenth number of times. Great performance in every sense of the word - laye, swar, taal, rass and all in a most subtle control.
The taal is called Matta taal. It is divided into 2-2-2-3 beats. The last 3 beats tend to have a very peculiar way to approach back the first beat - this is called Sawari ang.
There was delay added to this video when it was mixed if you're wondering about the echo. It would be nice to also hear a more "naked" track of his. Again, just wonderful flute playing on my second listen
I love his interpretation of this raga. He really taps into the primal part of it. Just lovely. I feel sorry for the fellow below that said this was boring. A true shame not to be able to feel the joy this music evokes.
HEAR! HEAR! I couldn't help but offer *kudos* to your comment; The comment kinda reminded me of *another* idiot - a coworker in Cleveland - that constantly, **constantly** asked "How can you listen to and enjoy that when they don't play American?"
Idiot.
As for the contributor of this clip, THANX fer it, m8..
So long as India can create artists of your talent, I have hope for universal brotherhood and humanity. Truly, you have unraveled the spirit of this most wonderful evening Raga; the notes are so 'shuddh' and speak of the wonders of what we call Indian classical music. They touch, they touch, and touch. Your so wonderful rendering. May God Bless you.
Mr. Prasad is undoubtebly a great flute player.. His dedication and devotion for flute is profound and that clearly gets reflected in his performance.
You are a phenomenal artist. Truly a gift from Krishna Himself. I would humbly like to suggest that you consider a career as a pro flutist traveling all over the world enchanting audiences. I've no doubts that you'll do well~!
