  • Sorry, wouldn't 6 molecules of NADH be produced at the end of the Krebs cycle, instead of 8 molecules of NADH?

I thought, during one cycle you get 3 NADH produced, but then during 2 cycles (2 molecules of pyruvate produced from glycolysis) you get 6 NADH...?

  • Wish I could have this guy as my tutor, learnt more in this short video than i have in 4 months of physiology, muchh more interesting to listen to

  • wow thx so much i have learned 20x more from you in about 15 mins than i have with around 10-80 min periods with my bio teacher keep going!!!!!

  • its cOOl......

  • how many CO2 molecules are produced at the end of Kreb's cycle?

  • @TheJavaria

Well, to be technical, there are 4 CO2 molecules produced at the end of a FULL Kreb's cycle. If you look at any chart, you will only see 2 CO2 molecules in a rotation being produced, however you have to double the amount of CO2 produced because a full KC is two rotations, typically only one is shown for clarity (1 glucose turns into 2 pyruvates: 1 pyruvate used per rotation: 2 rotations for a full Kreb's) Sorry if I lost you, message me if you need any more help...

  • Best hand motions ever.

  • This guy is the best. Very good job. You are a great teacher. Makes everything so simple to understand.

  • just a FAD haha hes got jokes!

  • In my books it says plant cells have mesophylls to do respiration?

  • @Sunny1Tuesdays

Mesophyll is the "waxy" layer you see on plant leaves, it serves to prevent the plant from dehydration. The thylakoid is were the real magic happens!

  • Wish this guy did videos at degree level!

  • This is so great!!!!... I don't understand my teacher on explaining this..

  • Comment removed

  • I do which he would have gone into all of the enzymes that catalyze the reactions.

  • He is a great teacher very clear and concise. I like the little memory trick with the matrix!

  • lol, Keanu Reeves = Krebbs, nice one nerd

  • WELL EXPLAINED but our teacher does want us to learn every step, EVERY MOLECULE, EVERY ENZYME, NO OF MOLECULES. Welcome to India.

  • Amazing explanation - thank you SO much =)

  • nice pun, "Don't worry it is just a FAD"

  • pretty nice keep up the good work

i sucked at Biology but now its so easy for me

  • My Teacher Disliked This Video

  • You guys have any teachers that look like this guy? I do.

  • hold down 4 for a nice lil dance

  • not bad bro

  • i love you

  • i learned that it produces 6 NADH and 2 FADH2 -- Hmmmm....

  • @liajeanne60 Same. I think he tied in pyruvate processing, which results in 2 NADH and the citric acid cycle, which results in 6 NADH. 2 FADH2 is also produced in the Krebs cycle, along with 2 GTP or ATP, depending on the the cell.

  • he is a great teacher....he has made bio easy to remember n understand.

  • everyone hold down 2 on their keyboard for a surprise

  • My teacher should just play all of his videos rather than teach the wrong stuff in biology lol. Awesome science guy

  • amazing!!! i actualy get it!!!!! :D

  • Hey...ummm can you be my new biology teacher?

Pretty please with cherries on top?

    D':

  • wow well explain thanx sub

  • One of the best lectures I have herd he makes biology easy to understand and his humor is great

  • What I would give to have you as my bio teacher :(

  • I wish you were my bio teacher :(

  • gosh xD i still dont get this xD!! its so hard!

  • you should mention the link reaction and Acetyl CoA

because in most cases, products of the link reaction counts as products of the Krebs cycle. During the reaction, 1 CO2 is produced and the CoEnzyme A is attached to the pyruvate or pyruvic acid removing 1 carbon.

  • u are the reason im passing bio!

  • khrrrumppa, khrrrumppa, to funny ! lol

  • Bravo, my teacher said Aerobic respirtation is for animals only, enlighten me on this please!?

  • @TOproFORthis

Aerobic respiration happens in both, animal cells and plant cells. Plant cells synthesize sugars by a process called photo synthesis, and then break down those sugars to form ATP in the process called Respiration, it can either be aerobic or anaerobic (produces significantly less ATP)

  • My teacher taught the krebs cycle over a time of 80 minutes. I learned more in this 5 and a half minute video...

  • thank you very much so helpful

  • THAT WAS SO CLEAR THANKS A BUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is 8 the net NADH yield of the Krebs Cycle? If each pyruvate molecule produces a net of 3 NADH, and there are 2 pyruvates in a glucose molecule, where do the other 2 NADH come from?

  • @lifewithjuan

It actually comes from pyruvate oxidation. Their yields are often lumped together because both occur in the mitochondrial matrix.

  • @Markkkkk26 Ohhh! Thaaanks! :D

  • @lifewithjuan Did you count the second Krebs cycle..? 1 glucose from glycolysis = 2 Krebs cycle runs

  • @causedhope Yeah, I found out thanks to @Markkkkk26 :D

  • @lifewithjuan The other 2 NADH come from the transformation of the 2 Pyruvate into Acetyl CoA :)

So that's two NADH from that process, plus the 6 NADH from the Krebs cycle.

  • this helped me alot

  • You're the Fin MAN!!

  • This is great teaching. Thank you so much

  • Awesome teacher!

  • thank u for this useful teach and information

  • I want more! Great teaching.

  • @n3rdnona me 222222222

  • "dont worry its just a FAD" lol great video!

  • Amazing! What an awesome teacher you are :)

  • Thank you for this video.. Keep it up.. :)

  • plss keep posting video it really helps thank you :DDD

  • He is good at teaching and is pretty funny.

  • Thanks a lot you are a great teacher. I hope more videos in biology.

  • this rocks!

  • Great video! Love the memory tricks =) Thanks so much!
