The radio doesn't draw much current (unless you have a mega-power amplifier as well), so if the radio starts to die, no way will that battery start the engine. Needs a jump start, or if the battery is already a few years old, might be easier to replace it.
If the problem is the battery, pumping the gas won't matter a rat's.
