Scanning keygens, cracks won't protect you. All antivirus software is essentially useless, they only pick up viruses that are known. My advice is to keep your software legal, there are heaps of freeware alternatives out there. Since I stopped using cracks and keygens I haven't had a single virus for many years and I am not even running any antivirus software, they slow down your PC to much.

Worse that than that happened to me, I ended up with the damm thing overwriting the 'master boot record' of my hard drive. In other words when you switch on your PC the next day all you get is a flashing cursor on a black screen. You have to reinstall Windows. Also these illegal downloads can get enough info off your PC to steal your identity.

No, it't not enough that you just simply delete the keygenerator. This is beacuse the keygenerator (not really keygenerator, trojan or some other malicious software) modifys your system and maybe creats new files. And maybe collect your bank/creditcard account and password and then sends it to the hacker.

It waits until you go to some bank website and then activates and starts recording your key presses and then sends the log file to hacker.
