What does he mean by "I've been gay since I was 18"? Is that a political line as to not promote under-aged sex or just him saying that's when he started dating?
Somebody wanna tell me what makes a specific dem and repub different? I mean, If you were a dem, but saw a repub you liked running for president, would you NOT vote for him/her just because you aren't the same house? Lemme get some feed back, im not really too politically informed
FINALLY a republican who is gay! I'm a Christian, I am against abortion, and I am gay. Glad to know someone is on my side. I would vote for him if I was old enough! Go Fred!
FINALLY. I'm a frustrated republican who is SOOO relieved that finally we have someone good and worthwhile on our side. I love this guy, I'm so glad I can vote now!! Kerger 2012
Sadly the republicans won't nominate this man anyway. I'm a pretty conservative guy so naturally I vote for republicans but I honestly can't stand most of their gay rights policy. I'm pulling for Ron Paul though if this guy can't get nominated.
@sxehitman007 I actually like Rick Perry for the most part so I wouldn't really be bothered to see him win. Anybody is better than Obama at this point. Still would prefer Ron Paul or John Huntsman but yeah if it comes down to it I'll vote for Perry simply because I know most of the policies of his I dislike are too radical to get past the majority of the senate anyway, lol. The only one I actually dislike is Michelle Bachmann but if Palin joins the race I'd vote for her in a heartbeat.
@zjd92 dear god i hope you're kidding...Perry is actually worse than Obama. they might both be corporate sell outs, but at least Obama doesn't want to bring on armageddon in the middle east(where everyone in the world dies in some bloody, final battle). he's a dominionist isnt he? if you're against al qaeda you wont like rick perry.
@rickclayfan Eisenhower and Roosevelt are examples of good Republicans. I'm gay, and a Republican, but am willing to admit that today's lineup is utterly pitiful. Ever since Reagan, the party has become more and more of a joke.
Well, I must say that I am a straight, married woman and you, sir, have my vote! You have got to be the most honest and brave candidate I've heard of so far!
Why should anyone care if you're gay? That in no way has anything to do with your ability to be a good president.
@elishebabb i admire those who are faithful to their religion however it is simply ignorant to view the lack there of as the cause of our problems. humanity is the cause of problems for trying to project itself as gods learned of-we are animals, animal instinct can discern good from bad, the fact that we allow religion to limit our understanding when we slave away to the written word when it is our actions that should speak is the culprit i believe karger is discussing.
@elishebabb withouth religion we wouldn't have the prejudice that clearly exists within you. the god you speak of created created said diseases and he also created the cure for them. adam and eve couldn't stay "pure" when they lived in the most pure of environments. given that their story and those stories that you are citing as fact were written during a time vastly different from now i believe you should think twice about said accusations and learn to read out of context rather than literally
Where does Fred stand (or in his case, sit) on the light bulb issue? Does he prefer incandescent or the new bulbs that will prevent harmful emissions?
" religion is the culprit "...what a statement !...if everyone followed "religion" we would not have STDs especially AIDS, neither poverty nor most diseases.
@elishebabb Instead we'd have witch-burnings on Saturday Afternoons, women being stoned to death outside sports stadiums for being raped and people being hanged for working on the Sabbath or simply being part of another sect(most of these happened in "religious" Boston in the 1600s--America's "founders". And with the bible as a guide we would still have slavery. I'm sure youre a nice person and in your church or whatever the positive message is all you hear. But there is another side.....
@CobinRain Real witches do a lot of harm. The puritans in Boston were not following all the commandments. Original Biblical "slavery" was a way to get out of debt - you worked for a family for 6 years , had room & board , then went out free in the 7 th year & not empty handed. Homosexuality ( male or female ) is not healthy just as smoking & drinking are not healthy. Look at the scriptures not people who half - heartedly follow them.
Sadly this guy has no chance with Obama and Donald Trump, not because /I/ like them more, but because Donald Trump is a celebrity and Obama is getting credited for killing Osama Bin Laden.
And excluding that, more than 75% of Americans are christian, and a majority of them think being gay is morally wrong, sinful, awful. (Which it's not)
So I would say he will not be getting votes from many christians.
HOWEVER, I think he would be an excellent president and I hope and pray that he will win.
@FailWhaleIsFail I just looked at a poll from 2008 and it says 48% of Americans think homosexuality is morally wrong and that 48% think it is morally acceptable. I do believe in maybe 25 more years a gay candidate will be able to have a legitimate chance to win a nomination and an election. I don't think he has the qualifications to be president, but right now this is a good bit of trailblazing by Karger and seeing he's running makes me very proud to say I'm a Republican.
@FailWhaleIsFail LOL! Well , I guess you don't know that Donald Trump decided NOT to run and Obama has damn near bankrupted America so I think Frank Karger has a very good chance! And he's far more qualified to be our president than Obama has been! At least he hasn't lied to us.
@SlightyDisturbedNBK Someone is close minded. Republicanism is about a lot more than attitudes towards gays. It's an entire political party and you and I might disagree with some of its positions but that doesn't mean there can't be gay republicans. Being republican should be about politics and not who can't love who anyway so I salute this guy for standing up for that.
@SlightyDisturbedNBK They can be republican if you take the moral crap out of politics. Politics should not have to do with religious or "moral" opinions.
