  • The Jonas Brothers must've disliked this song. xD

  • bquieted n listen the music.......its wonderful.......

  • its frank zappa on bass

  • Thats my distant couson, along with Micheal. At 23(years old) we flew trans love airlines at a 3 day concert flying hi thru lucy in the sky with diamonds. 1969 was a nice year!! Good people the Brecker bros. They lived life to the fullest. Keep it up there Randy

  • Just amazing, beautiful! Not only are the musicians just amazing, but I've never heard the mellow, deep tone given by a flugelhorn! Awesome!

  • beautiful. I am just learning about horns and jazz. Lucky me I came across this. Incredible flugelhorn.

  • ................

  • i love this kind of music! :)

  • Great version!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice job don't give them to much just enough to come back.

  • huh, some double buzz going on. must not be warmed up yet or is tired at the end of the gig.

  • @WoodDuck14 I kinda like the, gives it a bit of an 'octave harmonic' effect.

  • @WoodDuck14 or he wants it there

  • who is the pianist??

  • stunning playing, not so sure about head wear! He does seem to have a lot of "pet" phrases which are repeated quite often... obviously quite a bit of influence from Freddie.

  • @carcrazy25Onx Nah man, you gotta play the Trombone! Just kidding, you don't have to. Good luck with the French Horn, and all the other instruments you will play in the future.

  • Bravo!

  • I'm so glad this video was posted. I have listened to this recording so many times and never tire hearing Randy's beautiful treatment of this great tune. Randy has been such an wonderful force for jazz over the years. His recent playing and recording is as fresh and awesome as ever. It was a joy having Randy Brecker record four of the twelve tracks on my new jazz vocal album, "The Glory of Love," Rob Keiter, Sketchin' Records, released October 26, 2010.

  • I love the pianists faces. He's really feeling it.

  • Wonderful!

  • What I love about both of the Breckers is their professionalism. Their analysis of jazz is very deep and they both apply what they have learned but add an important twist. Randy's solos have an easily identifiable pattern that Michaels' don't. However, Randy is still one of the trumpeters I most enjoy. I could listen to him all day. How could anybody not love the sound he gets from his horn?

Great ideas, great execution - what more could be asked of a human?

  • They really need to get that mic right.

  • Awsome! This performance has really inspired me to play the flugelhorn. First I played the cornet, the trumpet, the baritone horn, and then the tenor trombone. And then soon, the flugelhorn! P.S.= after the flugelhorn will be the french horn.

  • @carcrazy25Onx I'm with you man! enjoy

  • @carcrazy25Onx is it a difficult instrument, i mean compared to the trumpet..i play saxophone, but would loved to get one of those horns, sounds so nice

  • Superb

  • echt super!

  • very nice ... sounds very good... cool solo ^^

  • that's why I love the sound of Randy playing Horn

  • randy's sound is so big and beautiful on flugel.

  • wow randy's lines are so nice!

  • while takin diner with my girl

  • muito bom

    vandinho Brasil

  • he must not be use to using a flugelhorn mouthpiece (deeper). At first this upsets him 00:53 , but he continues playing. I have seen this problem with trumpet players before. I am in no way criticizing Randy

  • fool, that sound happens when someone's lip gives out. Think about it, he was most likely playing all night and worn out.

  • I love flugelhorn!

I play it myself, just like trumpet.. (:

But he is so good, wow.. Wish I could play that way ^^

  • Thats great.!!

  • Good combination...a nature boy and old? men.

  • This music is great when playing poker!

  • Sure.

  • excelente interpretacion es un estimulo ver tan buen ejecutantes saludo desde URUGUAY

  • 5 *****

  • tonight on Nisville Jazz festival ! Greetings from Serbia !

  • whats he doing at 33? some sort of half step up from the root pentatonic pattern?

  • yep!

  • I like also the Bass, piano, drum . well skilled musicians

  • Brecker like allways !!! with deep respect !! a great guy !!! please check me playin ,,Landscape'' and enjoy..Hans Peter Salentin

  • Are his chops shot in this video? He's not playing as effortless as I'm used to see him play.

  • Yeah, he is giving out a lot in this video, and on flugel; thats pretty hard to do. This must have been played on a tough night at the end, you can notice that he is really paying attention to it.

  • Very cool

  • this is so chill.

  • 1:08 el poder de la pentatónica... :O

  • It's not too fast, it's not too high, it just makes harmonic sense and sounds beautiful. I wish more guys had his maturity and good taste.

  • Cool!

    :)))

  • He's got a unique tone on flugelhorn. Edgier than most players.

  • Skills...!!!!

  • a familiar tune that i can hum too :)

  • Keys got phat skills.

  • Shirt or no shirt, Mr. Piano Player knows what he's doing.

  • His intro around 1:10 was killer...I gotta transcribe that

  • a courageous choice of shirt on the pianist's part

  • sweet sweat passion in the blood no tears yet looking for a my own blue moon. you obviously found yours .cool swing.

  • Randy Brecker is a beast!

    perfect solo trumpet and flugel

  • the only bad thing about randy brecker is that he fluffs his entrances sometimes..... other than that he is excellent...

  • when you make it look that easy you know you're doing it right

  • What a fantastic flugelhorn player.

It's really nice listening to this music

  • fantastic... this is my kinda jazz. love flugelhorn and that piano guy does be good -- great rhythm section. good to hear that our style is still goin' strong (I was a working jazz piano player in the 50s and 60s).

  • lets hear it then...put a video up of the whole tune and your playing...looking forward to seeing it

  • wow!!

  • Randy Brecker is a beast!

    Woooo!

    damn

  • The tune is the standard "Blue Moon."

  • @jazzm doesn't count if something is good & worth the 18 extra seconds
