Hi lewis back for another listen :) this song has so many twists and turns its great on the ears.Ive been meaning to ask what do you prefer painting with acrylics or oil? Im just starting with oil.
Hey man- thanks! I just listened to your new tune- it is great! The vocals and the guitar really go well together- this song flows really well to. About the paints- I use acrylic instead of oil, perhaps mostly through conservatism, but there are definitely pros- acrylic dries quickly so layering is easy and it is water soluble so it cleans without stinky terps. Mediums can be mixed with the acrylic to give more texture and sheen to emulate the oil effect. Acrylics for me!
I had his voice in mind for some parts- glad you noticed the reference! I also wanted to create a similar feel to a romantic piano piece. I can tell you've been playing for a while...you are very dextrous on the fret board- where would you say your roots are?
Great guitar in this song! Love the chords. And your voice fits it really good. Great great song! the part when you hold a note long, is so beautiful.
This is stunning Lewis...A fantastically crafted song, love the way you hold the notes on "Breathe" and the contrast between the verses and chorus make this song both a relaxing and exciting journey for the mind and soul...
Thanks- I like to add abit of texture to my work, sometimes I worry the parts may seem abit too incongruous... but I think that's just because the radio pumps out audio pate! Got to get back to Satie and Debussy- look forward to your next post!
beautiful... it's been so long didn't see your video... love the chorus part ... please now breath now... so meaningful ... keep it up lewis... 5 stars of course ..
great original lewis :) It has hints of your style with an new edge that i like.youve been a busy bee.I hope your enjoying the kuwait sunshine you swine!
Busy strumming is like being on holiday for me! I'd love to do it for a living for a while... but I think my painting needs to take priority now I have the opportunity to pursue it. Kuwait isn't all peaches and cream you know! There's no beer here for a start!!
dear god are you insane no beer, get outt there man hehe.Seriously thou man if i had an oppertunity to paint for a living id grasp it with both hands, there no finer skill than painting.....im a big vincent fan :D
Lovely sweet song Lewis and some really cool chords makes it very original. Are you staying somewhere warm just now with your shorts on cos its freezing here! Thanks for the share mate
I came back for another listen, I see I'm not the only one doing that =D It's just a great tune!

I love the texture of your voice when you hold extended notes, very jazzy and vulnerable sounding - almost Chet Baker-like. Great song!

@ChapmanLewis I used to teach electric guitar to wannabe shredders of all ages =D Was Jeff Buckley in mind for the crescendos at all?
Re: your advice about singing out more. I'll keep it in mind, but I think my other video isn't as quiet.

Thanks Maurah- I was trying a different singing style that I think only works to create a very certain atmosphere... maybe I'll use it again...
