  • i hate that yankee nation.....

  • a beautiful scene...so sad i was born n raised in missouri.I am not a racist but this man lived, breathed, and died for the cause. Damn the federal government...

  • This is quite possibly the saddest composition i have ever fucking heard. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis should defiantly do more scores.

  • @McDoodle88

heh heh you said score... "shut up beavis"

  • I feel bad for 'Robert Ford' in the end.....he ' expected applause'....but never got any. People didn't pay 25c to see his body..

  • This motion picture will change you're life.

  • of course he knew, he read the news paper and knew bob was there the time Dick was arrested, and he took his guns off which he never had before just so everyone would know he was assassinated and there would be know discrepancies. he was just dissapointed in himself because he told bob that he has never trusted anybody and he finally trusted bob so bought him the revolver, then he murdered him with it

  • @1biles Ok, I get the fact it was replicated multiple times by Robert and his brother in stage. They wouldn't lie about this, would they? The stage act is very well documented and multiple sources and the movie does the right representation of the facts. But why would he accept being killed in front of his family? Why would he accept being killed at all? That's what I wanted to understand but have a hard time believing that he knew Bob was gonna kill him.

  • The movie was awsome and this melodie remebers me on Red Dead Redemption

  • I don't get it... Did he know that Robert was going to kill him? Or not? Anyone knows the answer to this?

  • @PadawanRJ I think the director use it a stylistic device to push up the dramatic. So its looks like Jesse accept his own execution. A very impressive, dramatic but sad scene. Robert Ford killed the person he loved the most and this song fits in perfectly...absolutely brillant. In my opinion the real Jesse James would never have done this. Remwember, his wife and his two children where present at this moment. Greetings from germany :o)

  • @flipper2911 Hello friend, thanks. I too concur this is a beautiful scene, if not my favourite in movie history (also the ending is quite strong as well). So you think Jesse trusted him so much that he would put his gun down and fix a painting? From the various descriptions of his assassination it seems he knew this was gonna happen and did nothing, but like you I wouldn't calmly accept my death the way he did (specially in front of my kids)... this is very intriguing and amazes me still.

  • My one and only complaint about this movie: the title is too long.

  • @tailuigi i absolutely love the title. its pretty damn unique

  • The scene when Jesse dies combined with this piece is making you feel every second of it, it is powerfull :)

  • who would have expected this from the same director as Chopper? Chopper was awesome, no questions, but this is one of the saddest movies of the last few decades, really unusual and unexpected.

  • Hans Zimmer is overrated. THIS is a proper film score.

  • @mrRMN28 zimmer is not overrated. this however is still a masterpiece.

  • Wow.. Just wow..

  • Beautiful

  • @MissConverse17 I was going to say that

  • Si puo' ascoltare un brano di musica come questo e raggiungere l'illuminazione

As I Listened to this I achieved enlightment

  • I hear songs off this soundtrack on adverts and on programmes, tis a shame most people will never know they are from one of the beautiful films ever made.

  • What is the song??? HELP

  • @TheOxideClan "WHAT MUST BE DONE" by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis :)

  • @TheOxideClan The song is the title of the video.... 0_O

  • I want a MIDI of this so badly!

  • robert ford didn't kill jesse...he lived to be a 103 i've heard storys

  • What must be done? What ever the guy robd from the rich and gave to the poor. So he took some lifes he inspired and was a symbol to many poor people as a hero shure a rebel but non the less a hero that acted on his thought a took respect when it wasn't shown. We need more people like that.

  • @johnplayersstandard the Knights of the Golden Circle stole from the rich, and buried it, they wanted to fund another war against the North. People are still finding buried gold. And yes some people had to die, even though Jesse and Frank shot them in the back. Their true history can be found in book and online.

  • @johnplayersstandard The film is about the complete opposite you fool, the man wasn't a hero, he wasnt robin hood like he was in the books he was just a man. When Robert Ford gets close to Jesse he realises this and how his devotion to jesse james was all a sham because of these flaws and the horrible things Jesse would do later in his life (killing ed Miller, and almost killing a child). Jesse regretted the bad things he did but he was no hero, he was just a man.

  • I just went to my room. Locked the door. And cried.

  • I just went to my room. Locked the door. And cried.

  • " By his own approximation, Bob assassinated Jesse James over 800 times. He suspected no one in history had ever so often or so publicly recapitulated an act of betrayal."

  • what a beautiful music, beautiful movie my favorite :X

  • I loved this movie, and I see it as a sort of movie which you can interpret in many ways and different people can view things in totally different ways, for example people might have though Bob was no coward.

The portrayal of Bob cam across to me as a character which the movie follows yet they are played in such a way to make you dislike them (another example of this is Robert Carlyle's brilliant acting as Hitler, some of the best acting I've seen in a movie might I add). How'd you guys see it?

  • @ViewtifulRaoul Well , i saw this movie in my point of view. like the ending of Jessie James "Ride"..You know? And it was betrayal..But you can tell that the other brother dident wanna do it. and they actually dident wanna do it. but they did.

Well i think you are right. This movie interpret in many ways of peoples point of view.I think this movie was great and should be more known then it self.

  • @code13cz he didn't trust him. He didn't even allow him to take a piss in the middle of the night. I thought this was When Jesse gave up.

  • Still doesn't get why he's a coward.

  • @Chemowski did you see the movie?

  • Comment removed

  • @Chemowski

He's a coward for not being his own man. There's little substance to him other than imitating Jesse James. You can see that's where he's trying to derive his character from but he's little more than a shadow in comparison.

  • The movie was something live poetic psychology to the rythem of history. The music, a lesson in divinety.

  • what was the lost shoe suppose to represent in the story...?

  • @SlingBlade79 Unworn shoes in cinema represent an impending death.

  • @btopishere thank you.

  • @btopishere and that is why they showed Charlie's boots by his bed.

  • I love this movie and have most of the soundtrack on my iPod- cut out a couple clunkers.

  • this mélody is in my head everytime that very good sound i like it

  • 感動了

  • yes he was a murderer...but he payed for that...and we ?, we are murderer`s too because in 1:58 minuts so many people are dying with hunger, because of war`s, drug`s...we are killing the planet...and what we do? Nothing...are we or not murderer`s? and we will pay ???

  • simply perfect...all movie, all music...this is...PERFECT.

  • EPIC

  • Dad, he's left me....

  • this soundtrack is unbelievable!

  • love it

  • Don't that picture look dusty

  • @lFunkyMonksl HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • cry cry cry......this is sad story about two mans....who's right? Dont know...cry cry..

  • The part you people are missing is that jesse was a hero to many poor people!

  • super films

  • As i saw the Film the first Time after a few minutes i liked it after the hole film I LOVED THE STORY THE FILM AND THE MUSIC it was WHOA mostly greatest Film its is amazing!!

  • A great song song one of the best in the movie and one great piece by Nick and Warren

  • How can he do that?

  • Thanks, Nick and Warren for this great but sad Masterpiece !!!

  • I'm crying :'(

  • i havent seen this movie!but im gonna watch just because of this soundtrack!

  • Beautiful !!

  • Jesse James was a murderer. Why was he so glorified? Yet when someone murdered him, people got pissed off.

  • Jesse knew he'd die by the sword, just as he had lived. He just didn't know when, but he was certain he'd be killed. I think he secretly chose Bob to do it; that's why he kept him around. I guess that he felt that if he had to be assassinated, better be by someone who loved the legend he had become.

  • i dont understand, robert didnt had any other option, he would have killed him, but he didnt cuz he thought about his children, and still james was a fucking bastard and a psycho, i feel sorry for bob , not for james

  • My favorite part of the entire movie was when Jesse's head hit the wall like an asteroid. Guess the "true" coward had it coming..

  • 0:55 the act of a coward!

  • @SlingBlade79 Lol it's easy to say things over the internet slingblade79!

  • @SlingBlade79 I would spit on your face if i had a chance it calld what it calld for a reason! jesse gave him food money and a roof over his head and he turnd around and shot the man in the back that's a coward if i ever heard of one and your a coward for defending the man!

  • @johnplayersstandard lol, now how do you think Jesse payed for that food, and house that Bob stayed in you fkn moron..? and defending the man? nah.. just pointing out the fact that if you live a cowards life, you die like a coward, and with out Bob there would be no Jesse. Bob Ford is the reason for the Jesse legend, sorry pal, figured I would tell you that... lol, and by the looks of your avatar if thats you, good luck getting away with spitting in my face nerd.

  • @SlingBlade79 Stop talking trash and buy a ticket

  • @SlingBlade79 lol jesse was a legend and even a hero to some way before robert ford shot him he even had storys and book written about him! I don't like talking trash over the internet sorry coward!

  • @SlingBlade79 A coward doesn't go out and take what he need or wants. Jesse was a legend long before robert had came into his life and shot him in the back like a coward i find it funny that you think you know how historey would unravel into the future becouse you simpley don't. So really arn't telling me much and you lose your head a little to easy on the internet doesn't say much for you. Lol...i'd got more lean meat on my dick then you have in your intire body!

  • @johnplayersstandard lol, lets both of us just shut the hell up and listen to this piece of music.

  • @SlingBlade79 Haha...now that i can do!

  • Robert ford! What a coward!

  • Amazing! It reminds me of the title track from Béla Tarr's Werckmeister Harmonies. watch?v=tRl3VQQ0GUA

  • The best role of brad pitt .

  • this piano rythm remember me another similar song.. but i can't remember the name :S anyone please help!

  • @jakoinuyasha i think youre referring to the song "she bangs" by ricky martin.

  • @892390 are you kidding me?

  • @jakoinuyasha Of Porcelain Vs Garbage - Shut Your Signal

  • @vaughnscheunemann thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks men!!!!!!!!

  • I was so impressed with Brad Pitt in this film, just so impressed.

  • Alright guys, I love this movie and the soundtrack of course. But I have to admit, that I did chuckle (because I am immature) when I heard one of those guy's names was Dick Little. poor guy.

  • @TheKipKadillac its Liddel he spells it with two D's. funny either way.

  • @ChristMelee You are right. I remember that now when he was correcting someone for saying his last name wrong. Still funny and would suck to be named that lol

  • Why do all your videos have pops like a busted old record? Ruining some really beautiful music.

  • every time i play this soundtrack, i listen to the first song and i think "oh yes, this one is my favorite."

...but then i listen to the next song, and the next..and i always say the same thing about EVERY song.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, i don't know what you've done to me.......but i love you for it.

  • @lmickayel brad done well, thoght he was just a pure gimp till this & 7

    rip jesse

  • @lmickayel - indeed

  • @DenimZero Idk, honestly I think because Frank had left for Kentucky after JJ refused to turn themselves in and then reading Liddel confessed he realized he was the only one left still fighting for revenge. He wasn't interrested in robbing just to rob like the Fords, or else there was really no reason to stop. I think after 15 yrs he finally felt the fight was over and layed his guns down, figuring there was a good chance Bob would shoot.

  • this moive took the best view i could think of in the story of jesse james's last few years of life. nothing match it or it's music. it can somehow make you feel compasion for both bob and jesse. this movie has no bad guys. no good guys. just people. i was a little shaken by this film. the messages it brings. it may just be me but this movie needs so much more credit than it is given.

  • yea this movie deff does deserve more credit..they didnt give it the credit that it deserve at all. it shows u how much the oscars are really not worth a crap.

  • i love this soundtrack by james

  • @vensethh It isn't just you. The first time I watched this movie I was blown away, but it wasn't until I watched it recently that I realized that this movie deserved alot more attention than it was given. The same thing can be said about the film's soundtrack.

  • I dont think robert ford is much of a coward, he was gonna get killed by jesse, anyone would do the same. although its sad that he dies :(

  • ROBERT FORD IS A COWARD!!

  • Best song on the album for me

  • ANOTHER HUGE EARTHQUAKE........GOD, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE WORLD TO END.........WE ALL DESERVE IT.

  • @Icumin15seconds buttsex? :)>):):)P come onnnnnnnn penises in asses penisses in asses, cum cum cum to meeeee

  • @Icumin15seconds So true!!

  • The 5 people that disliked this should go look at a dusty picture.... this is amazing

  • i thought that brad pitts acting is not really that good to me i mean he has the same role every movie i mean like he never changes his style i liked his performance in her but i though casey alfleck did so much better i thought he should have won a oscar for this

  • @hoover321f

Brad Pitt does a fair amount of character acting outside blockbuster films. True Romance, Seven, Kalifornia, 12 Monkeys, Inglourious Basterds, Snatch, Interview with the Vampire all display a great range of characters (Though I don't think Kalifornia is very good but his performance is quite admirable in it)

  • @imoveatparaderest Yeah that's why charlie ford was so guilt ridden he committed suicide over what he knew was a hoax. And Bob Ford would agree to a fake story shooting JJ unarmed, and from behind? I don't think so. If you're gonna fake an event you're gonna make one up to look a little more brave and daring and worthy of reward, as opposed to a backshooting coward.

  • In real life Jesse wasn't murdered. He faked his death with the help of some cousin's and some gang members. He lived a happy quiet life until the twenties, when he died of old age. If you don't believe me, research it, the evidence is pretty convincing.

  • @imoveatparaderest I saw that docu. on the history channel, they could not get any DNA samples off the bones, and they didnt even know if the bones was Jesse's because of all the grave robbers, but evidence of Thomas Howard attending X-Confederate gatherings up untill the 20's is proven from ledgers historians have found.

  • @imoveatparaderest There is also a substantial amount of evidence that proves otherwise; In the end it comes down to what you want to believe, either way, proven or myth, there will always be some who cant help but to entertain the thought that he died an old man. Besides, folk legends are good fun!

  • this is just beautiful plus this is the most amazing movie i've seen simply mesmerising

  • most underrated and under appreciated film that i can think of

  • @madmax6688 Absolutely. Zero attention from any of the mainstream outlets. The damn soundtrack wasn't even nominated on the major awards if I'm not mistaken, and it's without a doubt one of the best of all time.

  • @StarshipKoyote could not agree more. i kinda like it though. the fact that there is a gem that is undiscovered that only the few who look for it can find it. you know what i mean?

  • @madmax6688 That's a great point. There are a lot of great films that get major play. This one's for the people that truly appreciated it. I followed its production for 2 years, and it didn't come out in theaters within 3 states of where I live. I had to wait for the blu ray to even watch it, but when I got it, it was that much better.

  • @StarshipKoyote 3 states? that is crazy. i just enjoy when someone asks me what my favorite movie is and i tell the TAOJJ, they ask what it is. i just like having something great to show someone. hah

  • SOmeone needs to dust that damn picture.

  • Jesse James: You ever count the stars? I can't ever get the same number, they keep changin' on me.

Ed Miller: I don't even know what a star is, exactly...

Jesse James: Well, your body knows, it's your mind that forgot.

  • This song embodies and personifies the term "the end"

  • I almost feel like crying with this song...

  • Amazing

  • One of the best soundtrack i've ever heard, and one of the best movie i've ever seen

  • Can anyone tell me the significance of him staring at his daughter's boot? When I watched it I felt the scene was trying to convey something that I just didn't pick up on.

  • @GracefulAssassin9 In some way, he now he's gonna die, because of what he says before, and if you noticed, all the movie long he never put away his gun, but in that moment he do like someone who is going to die, like a samurai that look the world for the last time before he kill himself. It's too beautiful. I love this movie. Hope you understand my answer!

  • @STAREDEF I understand your answer, but I don't think it really answers my question lol.

I know that he's given up at that point. As Ford pointed out toward the beginning, Jesse would never be caught without his guns, so to take them off would leave him intentionally vulnerable.

And I'm guessing he was musing over this while he was staring at his daughter's boot. My question was whether the boot held any significance, or maybe I'm just looking too far into it.

  • as if creation was slightly more than he could accept

  • Jesse James: Seems I hardly recognize myself when I'm greased. I'm becoming a problem to myself. I go on journey's out of my body, look at my red hands and my mean face. I wonder about that man that's gone so wrong.

  • An incredible piece of composition.

  • By his own approximation, Bob assassinated Jesse James over 800 times. He suspected no one in history had ever so often or so publicly recapitulated an act of betrayal.

  • it just shows how brave Jesse James was, even though he knew he was going to get killed, he still looked in the face of his killer Robert Ford through the reflection. Jesse James knew if he faced Robert Ford, he would have chickened out.

  • lolwhut jailbait

  • someone explain to me why after he killed Jesse, ford tells the wife that he didn't do it, when quite blatantly he did.

  • @MrTumN3s They were cowards and were young. That is part of the point of the movie. Like a lot of famous people of the old west he never went out with guns blazing like in the movies and instead died a meaningless death by somebody who didn't even do it face to face.

That is why after he dies the movie follows them further into adulthood when they were more grown up and had regretted even doing it in the first place.

  • @MrTumN3s Heat of the moment. He wanted to cover up his shame,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,as soon as possible.

  • This should have been at the ending of red dead redemption.

  • "Do you know what I expected? Applause."

  • Guess I'll take my guns off. *sad last look outside*

  • is there a "LOVE" button?

  • God, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are brillant musicians. Every time I hear this song, I get so emotional, with all the feelings of shame and regret and the loss of innocence that it evokes...

  • "I truly believe I'm destined for great things"

  • BACK SHUTER . YOU SHUDE HAVE TRIDE ME. YOU BASTERD. BOB FORD

  • i swear to god i didn't do it

  • Love it! So poetic!

  • This is an impressive piece that captures the sadness yet also the rush going through Robert Ford when he about to kill Jesse James when the music gets louder then it slowly decreases into nothing when the deadly deed had been commited

  • Yogiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

  • Lovely music.

  • The thing that people seem to be overlooking is that the whole Yogi Bear parody probably turned on a whole lot of people to this movie, I'm sure the soundtrack has been getting a lot of sales over at Amazon too...

  • i actual came because of yogi

  • @omgsama me too hahahahahahaha

  • I LOVE this song--should have had more music awards for this

  • WOW

  • I did come here because of the Yogi Bear Parody, but if I hadn't, I wouldn't have found such a extraordinary lookin movie that I plan to watch as soon as possible.

  • @VIIproductions watched it great movie lol i just finished it and it was because of the parody that i watched this

  • yogi sent me

  • Don't that picture look dusty...

  • @MisterSin87 NICE
