  • I am looking to buy a telescope. and have around 50-100 to spend. Anyone have any suggestions ??

  • @JakobsMovieTutorials or the More money ya got the more expenive one you can get

  • i had a telescope, but i was too young to appreciate it, i'm now 19 studying astro physics at university and i wish i still had the telescope :(

  • mine is a 525 power, is that good enough to see colour better or would i have to tell you the lens type?

  • @BionicleStudios347 The amount of power is no indication of how well a scope is color corrected. Assuming you have a refractor, look at the front of the lense, if it's an APO or ED it should say so and you know you have a scope that is well corrected for color. If it says Achromat, then your scope is not color corrected unless you have an f ration of 12 or better. Not to worry tho, the guy in the video said you'll get false color, that's only in terms of the edges of bright objects. Ie fringing

  • @4illegalalien Depending on where you live, you could even see out of the Milky Way without a telescope! If you can get to very dark skies - far away from city lights - you can see the Andromeda Galaxy which is over 2 million light years away. Try it w/ binoculars, too. In the southern hemisphere you may see the Small and Large Magellanic clouds which are satellite galaxies to the Milky Way. A great program to try is Stellarium. It is free and it will show you what you can see in the night sky.

  • Heard there is some cool stars approaching us from the southern hemisphere, so with a cheap refracting telescope I should be able to see it from NYC? Even with the light pollution?

  • @wannabethug7 Let me answer your question, even a cheap telescope will collect more light and reveal more stars than your naked eye alone. You'll be amazed at how much more you can see even in light polluted NYC skies. I recommend a small Dobsonian however as it will give you the largest aperture for your buck. A refracting telescope is the most cost per inch of optics whereas a Dobsonian will provide you with greater aperture at less cost. The more aperture (light gathering ability) the better.

  • @nutwithatheory Much appreciated, ironically. Don't really want to spent buy something expensive just to search for something that's not there, but than again it's still nice to have if I get into star gazing and what not.

  • yo seen

  • can u really look out of the milky way ?

  • i cant see shit just lots of black riteing

  • one of the few good expert village videos.

  • @pifexx ROFL! i'm an electrician you raging queer! XD... my mother opted to buy me a scope for xmas, I didnt ask her to... she is a very generous person because I am generous to her! i got her a DS for mothers day FFS! XD so yeh!

  • @YonOtto hey i was just reading your little argument with the retard. im 24 and an electrician too, it was funny to see your comments

  • I wan to get wan... try to look out from earth!

  • i received a Nexstar SLT 130, which is vrey good, but all the time you need to align

  • Crap Apochromatic is too expensive....

  • I am thinking of buying the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC 76mm NEWTONIAN TELESCOPE . It has a x175 OPT.MAGNIFICATION and a MAX MAGNIFICATION of x525 is this any good and what objects would i be able to view with it.

Thanks (sorry i am new to telescopes i have no idea which are the shit ones and the good ones.)

    Cheers.

  • question ! how far this thing can see.. 1km?

  • @pifexx Its called "Christmas" asshole. The guy has a mother who loves him. It really is sad that you appearently don't.

  • This guy is just the best on youtube for telescopes , i have learnt so much from him .

  • nice

  • I just got a Frehel 60/800 telescope. What do you think about that? Thank you.

  • I just want one to look at the woman getting undressed in the house across the street.

  • @whitbyjet65 in that case i saw a really handy telescope with enough strength to do that for cheap at Ross lol

  • @whitbyjet65 most people would use binoculars then.

  • I love it how he plays the drums while talking ; )

  • Advice to all. Join your local astronomical society. Don't just walk into a store and buy one on the advice of a salesman. Astronomers are a friendly bunch and they'll help you out. @ KenConLock. Yes you can. But if you video an object thro the scope it will be very hazy and dance about due to refraction. Take stills and overlay them. Join your local society or club. They are here to help you. And they will.

  • Are there any telescopes which allow you to connect them to your computer? I would like to put the magnified picture (in real time) that would normally be displayed through the eye piece on the the telescope onto my computer. So i would like to look through the telescope... on my computer. Possible?

  • Yes, through a reflecting telescope with a CCD camera attached. Real time video/pictures on your computer screen or on a memory card. you can even get one with a GPS so you can track photgraph and video satellites and other moving objects like the Space shuttle and the ISS.

  • wonder how expensive these telescopes are

  • e ba y man 100$ to 250$....... a good one

  • Rubbish. Don't be stupid.

  • so do u know where i can buy a good one at ok $

  • How come in this video you talk about large magnifications, but in the other vids, with the same scope your advice for magnification is smaller. Did I miss a link? Or a trick?

  • Hi, I am about to buy my first telescope.

And I have no idea about what to get.

I saw one on ebay that I liked.

If you could give your opinion about it, it would be nice.

the telescope is 4.5`` reflector telescope and it is from the brand TWINSTAR maybe you have heard of it.

Hope you can help me.thank you.

  • hi i am also a beginner and am looking for a telescope myself. Aperature is the most important thing. The more aperature u have the more detail u will see in images and this really comes to play with nebula and galaxy deep space viewing. A good deep space reflector should be around 6 inches for good detail. If you just want to get a head start on planets the moon and even some close nebulae like the orion nebula 4.5 in is a good start. I am getting a Meade DS130 telescope with 5 inches for

  • some planetary nebula along with planets the moon and some other deep space objects. In a year or two ill prob upgrade to a 6 to 8 inch reflector for deeper space viewing. If u are on a tight budget 4.5 ionches for 200 bucks is a lot nicer than 6-8 inches for 400

  • A Newtonian telescope is the way to go.

  • @1stCAVMeserve For your first telescope, stay away from ebay scopes in general, there is a review of that scope on CloudyNights review site under the brand name Baytronix, not a good scope. Read some of the recommendations on CN and you can make a better decision on a first scope.

  • thank you sr.

    I will check CN.

  • my mother is gettin me a telescope for xmas...

god only knows what cheap shit she has bought me : (

    I'm 24 btw XD

  • @YonOtto what kind did u get??lol

  • @carndrifter ...a SPOTTING scope...£38 from ebay... with a table top tripod... you cudnt spot a fatty in a mcdonalds with it!!!

  • @YonOtto ha ha dumb bitch! ha ah

  • @YonOtto lol dont qworry my parents got me a telescope from sams club lol it was only 150 bucks and was a 4.5" reflector, boasted goto with a 2"focuser. All plastic hardware, goto sucks, and it has a built in barlow lense 1.25 inches whichj renders 2" eyepieces useless.

  • @YonOtto LMAO.

  • @YonOtto You should thank her for getting you anything, some people out there dont have parents and are not getting shit for xmass, so grow up, get a job and buy yourself a telescope that is not a piece of shit to keep you from complaining!

  • @slowassgsr Get laid : 3

  • @YonOtto Coming from the 24 year old who still has his mum buy him something. He's right about people not having parents and not getting anything. You need to grow up.

  • @afgmuscl3 Another faggot : D

Hi! I didnt ask for the fucking scope silly boy! XD like I said in a previous message to one of the nubz on here, my mum is a super generous person, aswel as I am to her soooo YEY! happy family's! sorry yur family cant be like that, prolly disowned you wen they realised yud be flipping burgers al yur life : 3

Anyway! thankyou for your comment : ) stay in skool, yul need it.

  • @YonOtto "Stay in skool"? How ironic, coming from the guy who can't even spell.

  • @afgmuscl3 PUH-LEEEEEEAAAZE!!! MAN!!! lern to interwebz! XD

and yes... I kno lern is actually spelled Learn and skool is spelled school and faggot is spelled afgmuscl3

    : 3

  • @YonOtto how much is a decent telescope ?

  • @YonOtto lolz

  • @YonOtto lol, so funny.

  • @YonOtto

If you really want something that are mostly are expensive don't ask it as a present, not because you can't afford it or don't want to pay that much but just like you said she will buy you like for 30 bucks worth telescope from child store :D

  • @YonOtto what a 'well mannered'' kid....

  • @YonOtto Ah I want a Telescope so much ...

    u r Lucky

  • @YonOtto lol ,do you deserve cheap shit

  • how to buy one its not that, its the more money you spend the better the telescope you get

  • @YonOtto So what did she get you ?

  • @yurity A spotting scope for looking at birds :D OOOOOH YEEEH! XD

  • @YonOtto You are 24 months i take it , because at 24 YEARS old yo ass need to get your own crib and buy your own EXPENSIVE telescope so poor ol mama dont have to get you your cheap shit .

  • @iFoRgOtMyPsSwRd OH MY GOD! you thick fucker! XD where did I say I'm still at home?! my mother opting to buy me a telescope for Christmas (over a YEAR ago) has nothing to do with wether I live at home or not. DAMN!!

Please read your ''niggerfied'' comment you left for me and then read what I said here and try and wrap that struggling mind of your around it.

  • @YonOtto Have you shoved that Telescope way up high yo ass yet and try and find your peanut ass unsatisfied ungratefull bitch brain ?? Huh ?? Ungrateful fucker . If you dont like the cheap telescope that your mom got you then work and buy your own shit. I bet the lady works hard for her money for a shitted ass fucker like you that dont know how to wipe their ass to be so ungrateful. And I bet you live in a cardboard box by the freeway .

  • hahahahhahahahahhahahahhaah mom's. You ask for a xbox 360 and you get a Xbox 180 lol @YonOtto

  • @WprEmiere1985

and mothers ask for great sons that will become true men and they get boys who occupy their basement.

it reality it should be opposite, you should buy your mother an xbox 360.

but sitting on your ass in your mothers basement does not pay good.

  • @MrPaisanos I bet you are one of those guys :D ...read the comment I left for yur buddy you replied to : ) TA TA now!

  • hahahahaah so funny I'm not even mad.. @MrPaisanos

  • I wouldn't exactly put getting a telescope from your mom AS A GIFT FOR CHRISTMAS in the same category as being 24 and asking your mom for an Xbox 360 out of nowhere. Secondly, what kind of person seriously just assume someone situation off of a youtube comment, get the fuck outta here. I mean, you can't be serious can you? I should buy my mom an Xbox 360 lol hahahhaha

  • And I don't leave at my mom's house you fucking idiot.

  • @WprEmiere1985 its LIVE you IDIOT not LEAVE. You need to LEAVE your moms house ASAP and go LIVE in your own place and LET your mom LIVE in peace.

  • Wow, big mistake. Speaking of errors; you're missing a couple commas, smart guy. @HOTBOXTHELUNCHBOX

  • Fucking trolls.

  • @YonOtto

how about you start earning your money on your own? you are 24 and you depend on your mother to buy you a fucking telescope? I am about your age and I can afford most telescopes that does not share the same size as a house. why? cause I wanted it so I worked hard for it. seeing a 24 year old whining over his mother just approves why I have sucsess in life. sheeps like you give me no competition.

go run to your mummy now. maybe she can bake you a cookie.

  • @MrPaisanos *sigh* check you out you fucking hero! :D you need an interwebz knighting!

FACT! I have my own place! I have my own car, mortgage, I pay my own bills! I'm an electrician you tool :D soo welldone to you for thinking the complete opposite of me before even thinking. FUCKING GENIUS!

My moher is a very generous person and one Christmas she told me ''I'm gona buy you a telescope'' when I was round visiting her one day :D

TRUE STORY DAT!!! OMFG!!! HOW CAN THIS BE POSSIBLE! XD

  • @MrPaisanos

    lol

  • I think I get it. Poor guy probably didn't have a mother who gave him shit. If so, sorry for you but we get gift. Sorry you never got one. @MrPaisanos

  • @WprEmiere1985

I just browsed your profile/youtube channel.

All I can say is, it explains your stupid conclusions.

now make the sheep sound for me. baaaaaaaaeh!

  • Wow, really? lol I have two videos uploaded on my channel: One of me drunk off my ass, joking and a video dedicated to my cousin. Is that seriously what you're basing my whole life on? You're a fucking idiot. Enough said. @MrPaisanos

  • @YonOtto LOL that is ridiculously funny!! Give it to some kid down the road who might appreciate it!!

  • Schat I'm sick of losers who try to make their own little video web sites that don't even bloody work. Their so dumbass they can't even see the play button doesn't actually make the clip play. Thankfully there was this copy of it here on YouTube.

  • im considering buying a telescope, any suggestions on which to buy?

i heard the orion skyquest XT6 classic dobsonian telescope is a great telescope for beginners?

  • I broke part of the support arms on my german equatorial mount and could not after many phone calls and emails to celestron get the part i needed. Nice scope great optics but very poor after sales customer service. Solved the problem my self by making it out of wood. STAY CLEAR OF CELESTRON.

  • ill watch out for those then thanks!

  • My birthday is 9/29 :O

  • i want q telescope that will allow me to look into space

    please help

  • i want a telescope for watching bobby929's mom showering

    help, pl0x

  • so wat kind of telescope will i need to see out of the milkyway and how much do u think it will be?

  • You don't need anything at all to see out of the milky way. The Andromeda galaxy is perfectly visible with the naked eye and it is outside the milky way. If you want a great view of it, you should use binoculars: 7x50 or 10x50 work best. you can get those for between $50 and $150.

  • lets say i have a 70mm telescope, is there a way for me to have it see farther if i were to change the lenses?

  • What is the name and/or brand of the telescope that he starts to highlight at 2:18 to the end of the video?

  • It's a Televue.

  • Can i ask? i whana buy Telescope buti whana cheap and good one Mercury 70/500 this telescope is good?

  • which one makes the image upside down?. i had a telescope from the 60-70"s and i could see multiple line bands on jupiter and its spot but it was upside down when looking at land things.8(..

with the old scope compared to the new scope i just got i can barely see 2 bands on jupiter and no spot at all and the new scopes a zoom 20-60x60mm 2!. WTF.

  • hi,

I have always been fascinated in space and have always wanted to buy a telescope and require some info - please don't go down the " for a beginner" because i'm not thick and pretty sure i'll learn. what about the Orion xt6 or ? 8 spending around £350 which is prob around $580 ??

  • hey just type in on google or ebay seben 8" telescope you can get alot of stuff for around £150 but its that price because it has no motor.

  • Great information but the only thing i disagree about the telescope recommended for deep-sky objects, lets say i only want to observe M31, M33 or the brightest members of the markian chain of galaxies an 80mm Refractor can be sufficient for that. 6 inchers and up are for more serious deep-sky observing, but i am not up to that level yet. Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • Hi. the best and affordable scopes for deep-space objects i recommend is a 80mm or 90mm refractor or a 130mm-150mm Reflector. But a reflector should suit you more because they are cheaper than refractors and you have more aperture. If you live where there are dark skies i recommend a short-focus or if you live in light pollution i suggest you get a long-focus. Thanks for asking!
