iam 45 now and i loved this song when i was 9 dam i feel so old but what a song my mom and dad were getting a divorce at the time so it brings back so many memories wow what a time now that i old enough it was for the best but dam what a song
Thanks for this video..I love this song! B17 is a number on the juke box..and it plays a song her boyfriend and her liked together, so when she hears it, she is sad beacuse they broke up...it brings memories to her. Oliva is beautiful..and so is her voice!
I believe the song contained a hidden reference to Laetrile, also called Vitamin B-17, or, more properly, Cyanide. The "controversy" over it was current at the time.
One of Olivia Newton-John's best songs! 1975 was a great year for popular music, & the Summer of '75 was no exception! I wish I had a time machine, because the feelings generated from the music from that year certainly doesn't bring me the same vibes from today's music, that's for certain!
@ChihuahuaboyDH As for my above post, just to avoid confusion, what I meant was that today's music doesn't create the same, if any vibes at all, like the music of 1975 did. The Summer of 1975 will never be equalled or duplicated in pop music by today's musical standards.
Whenever I see pictures of a young ONJ and hear that voice that mimics what I imagine pure joy would sound like, It is then that I understand why men believe in angels.

Does anybody know the details about the B-17 song? I know it represents a song on a jukebox, but did Bruce Welch have an actual song in mind that was B-17 on some jukebox somewhere? Or did he just pick a random letter-number combination that happened to rhyme well in the song?
Not many of you may know this, but this song is cover/remake. That's right, it wasn't originally Olivia's song. It was first recorded by it's writer Bruce Welch. His original was a much faster, uptempo, toe tapping tune. When Ms. Newton-John covered it, she turned it into a ballad.
For those interested, Bruce's original version is on You Tube as well.
@christianmom I remember my son walking in when I was playing my old 45's...he was 10 or just turned 11 at the time. He took one look and said "Hey, antique CD's!" I still haven't let him live it down.
Another great song from an incredible beauty and talent. Olivia you are the closest thing to heaven I will ever know
wheni listen to these old songs and someone didn't know what b17 meant i think of my dad when he said i would rather be old and wise than young and uninformed
i used to say please mr please, dont play please mr please cus it brought back alot of memorys some good some bad. still a beautiful song no matter how many times you hear it.
Is this about some jerk who didn't know about commitment?
Heartache often leads to beautiful music.
If your about to leave someone. Don't kid yourself. Your a selfish I&^*%&%*. And life is all down hill for you, until you learn relational endurance.
Love is more than a feeling. It's a commitment.
I walked out once and destroyed a life. Had mine destroyed by someone else not long after. I like to think I have grown wiser. Time will tell, I sure hope so as I hopelesly love my wife of 13 years
Oh man. Somebody had to ask what B-17 meant?! Damn, makes me feel old!! You see, son (or daughter) back in the OLD days, jukeboxes actually played these things called "records". They were made out of vinyl. They didn't have pictures to select the music......
@republocrat90 And those truly were the GOOD old days too, weren't they? Wow, here some of us are getting ready to turn 50 and when we talk about "records" and 8 Track Tapes, some of these kids don't know what on earth we are talking about. LOL!!!
@MoosicandCritters i saved some records and 45's over the years showed them to my kids they started playing frisbee with them things have changed so much, i miss those good old days
I would love to hear this song covered by a deep dark rich male country voice and with lots of acoustic guitar, including a sweet 12 string up front. God, that would be heaven!
The backup vocals on this album are by Vicki Brown, Pat Farrar and Clare Torry

VERY sad song to hear but a very upbeat tune for exercising
the abs and the quads. Also do the electric glide using this song.
Try it while working out and enjoy Olivia's voice at the same time.
