  • The backup vocals on this album are by Vicki Brown, Pat Farrar and Clare Torry

  • Please Mister Please Don't Play B-17. Olivia had a special place in my heart for a long time. Thanks for posting.

  • @dean24ful I was20 when this came out!

  • @alexp8654 I was 16. It's such a sweet song.

  • HAHAHA That's making me feel old too. I used to have a jukebox...

  • Our jukebox is youtube and what a great one it is.

  • Thanks for this video..I love this song! B17 is a number on the juke box..and it plays a song her boyfriend and her liked together, so when she hears it, she is sad beacuse they broke up...it brings memories to her. Oliva is beautiful..and so is her voice!

  • Five songs for a quarter? Wow!

  • So what is the mystery song on B17 that makes her so sad?

  • @MacEliot Accept the mystery.

  • La chica en los coros de John Denver.

  • I believe the song contained a hidden reference to Laetrile, also called Vitamin B-17, or, more properly, Cyanide. The "controversy" over it was current at the time.

  • No more songs, Mr.! I am done, never mind the Kentucky Whiskey!

  • Im drinkin good Kentucky Whiskey right now.....

  • This song turned me into an Olivia Newton John fan.

  • i dont

  • i dont like this song well i think i dont

  • i dont like this song

  • I had this album back in 1975, 1976. It was the best song on the album.

  • Valle de Bravo, que veranos, con mi cuate Alejandro QDEP, tenia una Dart 8 cilindros, que épocas

  • One of Olivia Newton-John's best songs! 1975 was a great year for popular music, & the Summer of '75 was no exception! I wish I had a time machine, because the feelings generated from the music from that year certainly doesn't bring me the same vibes from today's music, that's for certain!

    Bravo, ONJ!

  • @ChihuahuaboyDH As for my above post, just to avoid confusion, what I meant was that today's music doesn't create the same, if any vibes at all, like the music of 1975 did. The Summer of 1975 will never be equalled or duplicated in pop music by today's musical standards.

    Bravo, Olivia Newton-John!

  • Whenever I see pictures of a young ONJ and hear that voice that mimics what I imagine pure joy would sound like, It is then that I understand why men believe in angels.

  • @ssgtdac WELL SAID MY FRIEND

  • Whenever I see pictures of a young ONJ and hear that voice that mimics what I imagine pure joy would sound like, It is then that I understand why men believe in angels.

  • Livvy hit #3 in Billboard, 8-9-75. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • like to hear the song of ONJ went i was a kid, is just in my from one in the school, just came to understand a bit of english, good, thank for you tube, let me hear it again,

  • this song makes me cry........I have felt the pain.

  • this makes me think of my dog Randy :(

he died a few months ago :(

  • The beautiful Barbie Doll with so much talent.

  • Everyone loved ONJ in the seventies both for her looks and her incredibly beautiful voice.

  • I woke up with this song i my head, I hope that doesn't mean that today is gonna suck!

  • go laugh your ass off somewhere else,

dubstep is not even considered music.

Thats a fact, not an opinon.

  • dubstep "mr please" is way fuckin sicker then this lmao

  • French version by Claude François.

  • Does anybody know the details about the B-17 song? I know it represents a song on a jukebox, but did Bruce Welch have an actual song in mind that was B-17 on some jukebox somewhere? Or did he just pick a random letter-number combination that happened to rhyme well in the song?

  • 3 folks don't ever wanna hear this song again. Too bad, really! Nothin' short of great! God bless ya, for postin' it!

  • Not many of you may know this, but this song is cover/remake. That's right, it wasn't originally Olivia's song. It was first recorded by it's writer Bruce Welch. His original was a much faster, uptempo, toe tapping tune. When Ms. Newton-John covered it, she turned it into a ballad.

For those interested, Bruce's original version is on You Tube as well.

  • I was watching a keith urban devolopment episode and that is what brought me here. Lol.

  • なつかしい

  • A simple and haunting melody. Beautifully composed and performed.

  • A simple and hauting melody, really. Beautiful.

  • P 17 P 17

  • My goodness her voice gives me chills. Olivia Newton John sings a fine country song.

  • Who're the 4 dislikers? Billboard's #49 song for '75. Olivia hit #1 AC, #3 pop, #5 country. God bless!

  • Awesome song, written by Bruce Welch of The Shadows.

Ironically it is about the breaking up of his engagement to the beautiful Olivia in the 1970's.

  • @albyfox

Originally recorded by Bruce Welch, too!

  • Is that recorders I hear in the background following the refrain?

  • @christianmom I remember my son walking in when I was playing my old 45's...he was 10 or just turned 11 at the time. He took one look and said "Hey, antique CD's!" I still haven't let him live it down.

Another great song from an incredible beauty and talent. Olivia you are the closest thing to heaven I will ever know

  • @almac308 lol Thats funny. You made my night.

  • as far as i knw..b17 stand from the jokebox keys bottons code.B are the letters and 17 for the numbers .thx for viewing mate..

  • @saluyot4433 Duh...lol

  • @saluyot4433 That is correct. But we call it a Jukebox, not joke box! haha ;)

  • @saluyot4433 Wow.."as far as you know' Wow. I am old. Shit, I know how to dial a phone...

  • @saluyot4433 P17. Anyway this is in the top ten of the best songs ever recorded.

  • wheni listen to these old songs and someone didn't know what b17 meant i think of my dad when he said i would rather be old and wise than young and uninformed

  • i used to say please mr please, dont play please mr please cus it brought back alot of memorys some good some bad. still a beautiful song no matter how many times you hear it.

  • The 12 string playing along with Olivia's beautiful voice is so good.

  • Is this about some jerk who didn't know about commitment?

Heartache often leads to beautiful music.

If your about to leave someone. Don't kid yourself. Your a selfish I&^*%&%*. And life is all down hill for you, until you learn relational endurance.

Love is more than a feeling. It's a commitment.

I walked out once and destroyed a life. Had mine destroyed by someone else not long after. I like to think I have grown wiser. Time will tell, I sure hope so as I hopelesly love my wife of 13 years

  • don't play B17 it was our song it was his song but it's over

VERY sad song to hear but a very upbeat tune for exercising

the abs and the quads. Also do the electric glide using this song.

Try it while working out and enjoy Olivia's voice at the same time.

  • Oh man. Somebody had to ask what B-17 meant?! Damn, makes me feel old!! You see, son (or daughter) back in the OLD days, jukeboxes actually played these things called "records". They were made out of vinyl. They didn't have pictures to select the music......

  • @republocrat90 lol Thats funnny that someone didnt know what that was. I guess we are getting old.

  • @republocrat90 And those truly were the GOOD old days too, weren't they? Wow, here some of us are getting ready to turn 50 and when we talk about "records" and 8 Track Tapes, some of these kids don't know what on earth we are talking about. LOL!!!

  • @MoosicandCritters i saved some records and 45's over the years showed them to my kids they started playing frisbee with them things have changed so much, i miss those good old days

  • @republocrat90, it is a shame when people never study history of any kind.

  • i dont ever wanna hear that song again

  • What a crazy beautiful voice ONJ has. One of the best.

  • I would love to hear this song covered by a deep dark rich male country voice and with lots of acoustic guitar, including a sweet 12 string up front. God, that would be heaven!

  • Love this song!

  • Sounds like a beautiful woman whispering in my ear. Makes me want to get out my old 78s.

  • hey mystifiable...what flute?...

  • @digger815 ummmmmm, maybe the flute that pretty much dominates the second half of the song???

  • How many hours did I spend skating to this song, over and over, week after week.. lights low, colored lights and a rink full of friends...I loved it.

    Thanks for the memories.
