i have this phone for 6 months now and I am really pleased with him. it's a very good phone this price and has all the apps as the high end phone so there is no big diference. about the 1.6 android, i think its better to have a phone working flawllesly with 1.6 than buggy and slow with 2.0 because this phone maybe couldnt hande it right.

only thing is that after a little while it started to slow down because to much apps but i dont think this should happen.

Only bad thing about this review is his english, he actually presented every feature on this phone much better than other "better" reviewers.

I love this phone. I can't wait to get it soon. I always had standard phones (sliders and monoblocks) so I want something different.

Everybody says it's a great phone, and it sure does look like one :)

Loaded it with money yesterday (75SEK, Ca = 8 Dollars) and now I only got 30 SEK .. and I have not really made any long calls, used internet etc ..

There's a cool option to start the mobile without internet, so you dont get charged.. I was worrying about the same thing but Android is really intelligent there. You can press and activate mobile internet when you wish. Another great thing is that if it has to choose between 3G and WiFI it will automatically choose WiFi so you dont have to pay.

I just got this phone today and its like you say amazingly fast. Altho as its my first touch phone I ever use its realy hard to get used too but thats problem at my part, the phone seem to work flawlessly so far... :) only had it for 10 hours but yeah I like it. And as its small and I hope it will get pretty good battery life :)

Resistive screens get a bad review, I have one and they're not bad, they easy, you just need to be careful and respect the screen and it will respect your comands.

I've not tried HTC's resistive touch screen but I have tried MgW's and it was dreadful. Then I tried a Nokia 5800 screen and it was also terrible to start with but then Nokia released a firmware upgrade and the sensitivity was increased and it was much better!! I might buy one of these tattoo's today. I'm hoping that the email functionality is good on it.

Well the Touch 2 and Tattoo's are tweeners, not AMAZING but Tattoo has Android making it better than the Touch2, otherwise they're exactly the same.~

I find the screen easy to use, although everynow and then the unlock touch pully (you know, move to unlock thing) will take 3 swipes of the finger, but generally it's ok.

The camera isn't amazing, it's fine in daytime, but at night DREADFUL, so I hope you have a seperate digital camera, also the internet is AMAZING on the HTC's..

I just got mine :-) Am very impressed with the resistive screen!! I can use the tip of my finger instead of my nail (which I had to on the 5800). Not sure which keyboard I like best yet though....think I need time to adjust. I hope they bring Android 2 to the Tattoo. I emailed HTC before I bought the phone and they said they didn't know yet but could confirm that they bringing it to the Hero....here's to hoping! Very quick response from them. Gives a good impression about customer service...

Very nice review! I'm also planing to get one. It's pretty affordable, and from what I've seen on the internet, looks like a great price/value ratio. I played a little bit with the phone in a mobile operator showroom, works very well, I could type with pretty good precision even though I don't really have small thumbs. That was my major concern, but I was proven wrong :)

resistive requires a firm press on the screen, requires pressure. capacitive does not and so is supposedly better - but id rather apply a bit of pressure to the screen. my viewty has resistive and its fine. with haptic feedback (screen vibrates when you press something) texting is great because it feels like real buttons - something you wont get with capacitive.

Battery life - I get 1-2 days out of mine. I charge by habit at night time anyway, so it doesn't bother me. Also, I hook it up to charge whilst i'm in the car.

I have a Tattoo. I think the screen is definitely its weakest flaw. The resistive touch is decent after you get used to it (but you still need to get used to it), but my biggest criticism is the resolution. After switching from a G1 you're getting a lot less real estate (exactly half, in fact).

You can. Mobiles is like computers, you need to care about the operating system. Like nokia got S60 OS Then HTC Uses Windows Mobile And Android Sense. This one and Hero got Android Sense.
