Im 5-9 feet tall & I am touching a ceiling nearly 12 feet & 6 inches high, That's Nearly the Top of the Basketball Backboard!!! Also my head is Astonishingly near by a ceiling higher than 12 feet!!!The NBA Will Never Ever Be Ready For This Kind Of Surreal Flying Elevation!!!!!!!

  • Fucking Jordan stole his dunks

  • Pause at 1.35 ... that guy is staring down into the basket and driftin away from it... that's HOPS

  • @RickyMoss Yea wow that was absolutely incredible for 25+ years ago! When he is falling away BOTH his elbows are above the rim and about half way up the biceps!

  • i guess no one peeped Dr.jay clap the backboard with the ball and then dunk?

  • Wish they had some of Dr. Dunkenstien on there.

  • @Dreamhaxx02 I came here looking for the same thing.

  • Dr. J is sick!!!! :O

  • dunkers23, now and again I attempt to bear in mind what it was like prior to when I can easily dunk in bball. After I put to use the exercise system at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | - my game has been increasing dramatically - check it out!

  • #VIDEOPOSTERID# crazy vid, reminds me of someone I know - me - lol. I'm 5 8 and I can double pump dunk. I followed the real nba training program that pro players including Kobe Ray Allen and Areans used. If you want more info about the program, check out - 50inch vertical[dot]com

    1984 NBA Slam Dunk Competition

  • So my neighbor dunkers23 finally told me how he started dunking, he s not even as tall as me but leaps over a foot higher! What he took the training plan over at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | and increased over 16 inches in his vertical jump!

    1984 NBA Slam Dunk Competition

  • hi dunkers23, I m training to boost my vertical leap by performing the training course over at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | - and so far gained past 8-10 inches so far but I am even now a a little away from dunking on the rim It's only my second week thus far, any tips?

    1984 NBA Slam Dunk Competition

  • I would so ashame to wear those short shorts. lol

  • Wow first ever N.B.A. slam dunk contest!

  • doc should be more original in that contest , i mean he already did a free throw line dunk in 1977 dunk contest .

  • tough to believe they gave larry nance the trophy over julius

  • Orlando Wooldridge should have won, he was the first to do a between the legs dunk and a honey dip.

  • damn, dunkin from the FT line at age 34. damn the doctor wuz insane!

  • hell bleaping yes! he was the best

  • fuck you whats with that bang in the beginning of the video i had my spakers up and its like 11. fucking want to me wake up everyone in my house

  • fuck

  • who started the "windmill" dunk? was it before dominque?

  • Orlando woolridge got low-balled on scoring.

Where's darrell griffith who finished 4th in this contest? Dr. dunkenstein was my favorite.

  • is it just me or were the dunk contests back then waaaaay more entertaining than what we have now. maby im just old and jaded.

  • 10000% True..I think that the style is just missing somehow nowadays..

  • I know I'm a noob for asking that, but how ca I find the song that closes up the video ?

  • Mariah Carey - Boy

  • Doc was a beautiful jumper. Never a wid up or pre tense. He jumped like a sparow would take to flight. From the ground to the air was seamless. It looked too easy and he had size. His playing weight was 210. Big for 25-30 years ago.

  • looking back here, dr. J did damn good in the competition. i liked that one were he dunked it and had to move his head around the back board.

  • larry nance did the same dunk twice i think

  • yeah, the ones under the basket

  • No seu cu essa musica de apresentação no começo do mix!

    Barulho chato do caralho...

  • Larry Nance and Dr J rock.

  • The 1984 Slam Dunk Contest was one of the 5 major events that led to the birth-year of the basketball and hip-hop culture fusion that is known today as The "Dunkadelic-Era" In America, 1984-Present. Thank you, Dr. J for your influence you are the "Godfather of Basketball".

  • my goodness! Dr. J was 34 in this contest but was still able to soar!

  • Comment removed

  • Sheesh, that two hand off the board reverse jam by the doc was wicked.

  • larry nance is one of the athlethic dunkers i have ever seen!

  • how old was dr.j in this contest?

  • Ralph Sampson should have done the armpit on the rim dunk, and the get the change from the top of the backboard dunk to win the competition. He had great athletic ability, but HORRIBLE creativity.

  • Ralph Sampson? I guess u meant Larry Nance. But yeah he should've been the first to do the armpit in the rim dunk. Jumping 40 inches at 6'10, amazing.

  • the arm pit dunk is called a honey dip people.

  • the arm pit dunk is called a honey dip people

  • More graceful then Jordan? Yove gotta be joken me!

  • Yes, doc was more graceful. Clyde Drexler and Scotty Pippen were more graceful than Jordan. Jordan's style is a cross between Dr. and Wilkins. More on the harder side than graceful.

  • tom870 u have 2 be an ass

dr.j was the most spectacular highflyer of his day not diss jordan or anything but we must remember he was the first man 2 do a dunk from the freethrow line

  • Dr. J is the only man in NBA history that could make the fans root against their own team!

  • Dr. J was such an acrobatic dunker, so much more graceful than MJ. Nique was awesome in his day, definitely one of the NBA's 50 all-time greats.
