I don't HATE the site as one claims, however before this site was discovered by the "Myspace" crowd Youtube WAS a free site anyway, once Google bought Youtube, everything went downhill with all of these advertisements. Why should you care what I post anyway?

There are other ways also of keeping the site from going down other then signing contracts to advertisers. Youtube could have been an optional donation site where if one helped pay toward the company [too late now, google's got a hold. Qui Sera Sera.] there would POSSIBLY be less spammers, no commercials, better FEATURED movies instead of crapo adverts.

I'm not sure if you noticed from the millions of videos on the site that it obviously takes a lot of bandwidth to host all these videos and no amount of donations could support the traffic. Trust me, they need support from a bigger source.

And just as a point to mill over..YouTube is most likely run by a huge team of people who also need money to buy food and pay rent. A site this large has to at least have a hundred people maintaining it on a regular basis...impossible otherwise. I doubt that simple donations would be enough to run the site AND pay all those people AND pay the lawyers trying to keep Viacom off their asses.
