  • does your blacktip get spooked when you go near your tank ? clown trigger doesnt bother him, great tank btw

  • Nice

  • It looks great btw

  • i love how everybody keeps on telling this guy stuff like they know more then him. this guy probably knows more than all you know it alls combined. of course he knows this thing will be a monster, however by that time he would probably have an even bigger tank or the shark is in a bigger tank somewhere else. instead of judging this guy, just lean back and enjoy this amazing video. awesome tank man!!!! i cant even get a tank 1/10 of the size of your refugium. make some more updates.

  • those sharks can get up to ger 5 feet long

  • This is the first video I've seen of someone having a black tip shark and actually having a tank that is appropriate. I'm sure you already know that dispite how HUGE this tank is, eventually he will outgrow it. That aside it is an impressive set-up. Bravo sir.

  • I would like to know what type of biological filtration is used since I don't see a wet dry trickle filter or sand filter??? Is it just liverock and a refugium for nutrient export???

  • Black tips well grow up to 6 feet long and weigh 100 pounds when it gets that big you well need a 200,000 gallon tank good luck with that!!

  • To the people that are giving this guy a hard time go read up before you make a comment about it. The Black tip reef shark is one of the fast swimming sharks and does constantly move as opposed to the Banded Catsharks or Hornsharks which are a lot more docile and don't need to be constantly moving, due to the fact the can pump the water and assist their own breathing. 1000 gallon is perfect. BCT182 keep up the good work of showing what a true hobbyist and what more should be doing.

  • it's so cute ^^ how much it cost? the shark.

  • Bro... im pretty sure those get too big to live in a tank

  • @ibobsled1 do more research.

  • @talleynj85 The maximum size recorded is 8.4 feet... The normal size is arround 5 feet long.. sharks need lots of space to roam... it can be done but thats like keeping a full grown lionfish in a 30 gallon tank. And i am not downing him, it is his choice of how to spend his time and money.. not mine. i was just stating my opinion.

  • how did you acquire the shark??

  • Is the shark still alive?

  • very nice

  • what gallon is your tank? ? and is it salt or freshwater?

  • @calicushsmoke since when do you see a black tip reef shark in freshwater?

  • Nice to finally see blacktips in a proper sized tank. Some people keep their sharks in tanks that are WAY TO SMALL ! Nice tank man I envy you !

  • how frequent are your water changes and how much do you do?

  • That is a awesome Black Tip and a beautiful aquarium!! It's obvious that you know what you're doing and doing it very well!! Just ignore the "tree hugging, know it alls"!!

  • All of yall ask how much does that shark cost...... Just catch one dummies...

  • do you need a license to get one

  • beautiful tank....use more lighting from top to make it stand out more....but thats just me....good for you....love it.

  • There I a place in Sydney that sells white tip sharks from memory they cost $1000+ they have a website so search yourself.

  • Blacktip reef sharks are on the endangered species list. It does not matter how big the tank.

  • Where can I buy that kind of shark?

  • do you have to get in it to clean it

  • Where did you order the shark from?

  • any chance youd sell the tank : )

  • where do you get a large tank like that

  • badass dude, you can fuck with a goldfish but nobody fucks with a shark

  • That is beyond awesome. The things I would do to have a blacktip!

  • Just curious, about how much does a blacktip cost? Great tank btw

  • this is awesome!!!

im looking to get a 150-200 gallon tank and im just used to having a freshwater tank, and can you use the same type of filters or do you have to have those undertank things??

  • @kodyhorn44 For a type of tank with sharks you will need a filter underneath. The filter will be like another tank just with equipment in it to clean the water. I would research it more before you get started.

  • Wow some ppl are such fags.

  • For housing an adult blacktip reef shark don't even think about putting it in your house unless you have 35,000 gallons of water and room to spare. At minimum he should go in a big in-ground pool. Not saying put him in there, but just so you guys know the approximate minimum size of the tank needed. And nurse sharks, yeah....I get asked about them a LOT, umm... take your avg town house and fill it basement to attic with water, then come talk to me. lol.

  • Can u put a juvi in 500 gal tank?

  • Would like to see more pics please keithshields0108@yahoo.com

  • hello i was thinking of getting a black tip shark if not one of them a leapard shark and was going to build my own aquarium and was wondering if having a waterproof wood for 3 walls of the aquarium and 1 glass wall to be able to see inside would work and be a good idea also would it be okay if i had it outside as its a bit big for the house aka huge aquarium like a pool

  • Amazing shark, how much did that set up cost?

  • woaah sick tank :)

  • I have so many questions.

    1. did you build this tank yourself?

    2. How much did it cost?

    3. where did you get the shark from?

  • thats fucking cool homie

  • Such a gorgeous specimen, you ever had any other sharks?

  • Thats a fantastic looking tank. Do you have any plans for when the shark gets to adult size?

  • beautiful shark + tank

  • is this even legal

  • When they get about 6 inches long, I like to get them started on smoking. This stuns their growth and keeps them around 12 inches.

  • can u own one in Massachuetts because when im older im thinking of getting a blacktip reef shark. Theyre so sick.

  • how much for all the stuff and shark

  • he still alive? what did u do with him?

  • what do you do with the shark once it grows to its normal size. which is like 5-6 feet? sell it to a aquarium or get a bigger tank??

  • At least its not a tiny tank. Just get that thing out before its too big.

  • NICE TANK!! IF I OWNED IT I WOULD PROBABLY GO DIVING WITH THE SHARK xd xd

  • Ever decided to jump in and swim with it, cuz it is sikk.

  • Awesome Tank!!

  • i've just bought and started up a 500 gal tank a couple of weeks ago , where do u think i could buy some sharks like yours , write back asap , thanks

  • thats so cool thats my dream to own a black tip reef shark but sadly not gona happen anytime soon

  • where did you put them when they grow up?

  • wow that really is a dream tank. how much money does it cost to maintain, also what amount of water changes do you do and how often. also how much did it cost for the initial setup. i have a 125 gallon reef with leds and everything so i am estimating its worth about 8 grand for everything i spent on it. i would imagine this will be more but not a huge difference since it wont be a reef.

  • that is the baddest shit ever

  • my dream tank!!

  • Tank is way too small...

  • how big will this shark get? hit reply

  • @robertdeuce

Blacktips can get to up to 6 feet, so while thats a large tank its most definitely not large enough for a full grown shark. Even this juvenile seems needy of some more space. Poor lil guy.

  • how many gal is dat

  • Dang that's one sick tank. I've seen a 1370 gallon glass fish tank in person same dimensions as yours but 40" height and it was huge. Would be a dream tank to have.

  • @chickenboidx you shouldn't have even one black tip in a tank thats4ft by 1ft by 1 1/2 ft let alone 3 and the usual rule is one inch of fish per gallon not one shark per gallon and i've read that you need a 5750 gallon fish tank for an adult

  • beautiful animal!!!

  • hahaha sharks can grow there fins back .

  • Just gorgeous(:

  • I use soda water for all my marine tanks too! I just don't see buying all that salt and RO/DI water...geez! Get a little seltzer water and put those puppies in the tank!

  • Nice video, seriously hope you were kidding about the fin soup part of your comments.

You have to understand some people dont get that your comment was mostly a joke and take these comments seriously as facts - i saw your video because a colleague mailed me the link saying "see i told you sharks can grow back their fins" - took me 10 mins to explain that you were being sarcastic.

  • warpmaster - you forgot to mention that shit species tops out at 6ft when fully grown and will need at least a 6.5ft long tank to live in.

  • I can't believe I typed "shit" when I meant to type "this" ... Freud has me

  • @lgarvey lol

  • Just one correction to your video discription: sharks DO NOT regrow their fins, cutting a sharks fins and throwing them back in the sea will result in their DEATH - they cannot swim or maintain balance and usually flip over, go into tonic immobility and slowly sink and die.

Pure freshwater for this species is not recommended you have to keep a cetain amount of salt in the water to prevent nervous degeneration, and keep the copper out of the tank they ARE HIGHLY susceptible to copper.

  • What makes you think you are the only one with this information and why is the distant future more important than the present? Is the shark crowded right now? Do you know his plans for the future or his budget? NO! So back off, grab a beer and enjoy the video. Damn, maybe he did fuck your wife. I guess she saw the shark and couldn't help herself. You almost sound like you want the man to fail.

  • Willie - why are you being such a dick?

  • The number of idiots commenting never ceases to amaze me. Am I the only person on here with the ability to detect a little sarcasm? The man has what seems to be a healthy shark in a huge tank so what's the problem? Most of you are acting like the man fucked your wife or something.

  • Hell yeah Willie

  • @BCT182

is this a glass tank? in some of the shots it looks enlarged and distorted? what would be the reason for using glass or acrylic?

  • @BCT182 u act like he knows u

  • @kingwillie206 don't worry about 'em man. they're just a bunch of geeks. they probably go to their friends' houses and see the cribs their babies sleep in and say, "Holy cow dude! Do you realize that kid is going to be 6 feet when it gets older!!?? Are you insane!!??"

  • @kingwillie206 sharks are dumb anyways he probably thinks he is in the wild every time he does a lap

  • @kingwillie206 HAHA TRUE COMMENT

  • @kingwillie206 HAHAHAHAHA!!! Love it!

  • @kingwillie206 the reason is it will grow to large and what will he do then

  • what r tank dimensions

  • minimum 120? i seriously hope this whole thing is a joke. if not you need help

  • how big is the shark???

  • thanks reallly helpfull, i hope to uprade to a 5 ft tank then i shhould be able to keep a a pair of bull sharks with my manter rays

    luke

  • nice one i have 3 babbey black tips in my killer sized 48" x 12" x18" tank, will there be room for a white tipp and nurse shark aswell ?

  • Yes, the general rule is one shark per gallon. Providing they are pups or sub-adults. Once they become adults its one shark per two gallons.

  • @BCT182 One adult shark for two gallons? Are you crazy?

  • @BCT182 but when i was looking at a site it said 2500 gallon

  • @BCT182 One shark per gallon? I think you need to rethink that sir.

  • @chickenboidx woah woah woah, no, you can't put a white tip in there. Your tank honestly isn't that big. My friend owns a company and I help him build aquariums starting at a minimum of 100,000 gallons to 3.6 million gallons and I'll tell you right now, one full grown black tip requires at MINIMUM 35,000 gallons TO HIMSELF (repeat 3x) for a full-top condition-healthy life. The width and of that 35,000 gal should be 48ft or longer, generally 8 times their max size so.....6ft x 8=48.

  • i currently own 3 black tips very good sharks sometimes frenzy are bad. they are kept in a 500 gallon tank

  • Good to hear!

  • @BCT182 how much do these sharks cost ? and how much did the setup cost also ?

  • @BCT182 where can i buy this pls tell me i just built a 5000 gallon tank all cycled for 5 months now and this is the first fish i wanna buy

  • mad tank how many gallons i dont think id recomend it for a begginer unless they had a huge tank but your tank is freakin aswesome

  • give the blacktip to people who can care for it like your local aquarium and get a couple bamboo sharks your aqaurium is perfect for it.

  • Hey, I updated my video discription for everyone. Read it russ.

  • that shark can grow 4 to possibly even 6 feet! what are you thinkin? how much money did you drop to provide that shark a less than adequate environment.

  • Hey I am actually looking for a attorney to represent my shark, sounds like your fit for the role!

  • i hope your joking about the fact that they can regrow their fins because that is false.

  • do they need to be in salt water?

  • Any water is fine, even soda water!
