1. There's no federal law that's states the immigration as "illegal"(unless the immigrant voided a state law, then it would be illegal).
2. You would have to void the constitution to kick out every single present day illegal living in the US(you'd violate the basic rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness). Note: pay attention to the fact that I said you can't kick out present day ones, but you can prohibit new illegals from coming.

I have a friend who's from Laos, and I asked him what he thought of illegal immigration. He told me of the journey he took to come to America. Two problems with that:
1. They're not technically "illegal" immigrants. Breaking a rule isn't the same as breaking a federal law(unless there's a state law stating otherwise in the state the immigrant snuck into).
2. Removing every single illegal immigrant would void the constitution. To remove you'd have to strip them of their basic rights(rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of hapiness).

I have a friend who's from Laos, and I asked him what he thought of illegal immigration. He told me of the journey he took to come to America. When he was around 5 years old, the communists took over the country he's from and started exterminating his people because they sided with the Americans during the war. His family fled Vietnam, but in order to leave the country they had to make an arduous trek through the mountainous jungles, crossing rivers all while trying to avoid the NVA.

So why doesn't he deport himself back to Europe? It easy to talk tough in a country where has has not only all the freedoms he's entitled to but also the opportunities. He and people like him should adopt 4 illegal aliens, keep them in their own homes and provide the financial support for the illegals health, welfare, education and general well being. When they see that they are responsible for this and not my taxes, their story may change a little.

@jblackmel this is another false choice argument; the problem is both illegal aliens taking jobs AND illegal employers giving them jobs. We need to go after both. Make life worse for illegal aliens here in the US than it is in their home country and they will go home of their own accord. Tax all employers to pay for total costs of immigration, legal and illegal; thereby turning cheap labor into expensive labor. Business/corporations will quickly turn to native born Americans for the labor.

If the camera had panned about 10˚ to the right, it would have picked up the statue of Christopher Columbus that's on the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol--all of 150 feet from where "Erickson" gave his speech.
