  • dude the singer probably felt 20 years old again

  • To me they're not very Noise Rock like Big Black. Wiki says that they're Post-Hardcore / Noise Punk, but to me S.A. is Art Punk.Something like that.

  • @srekazinskas always have wondered what genre this would be, ive always just called it noisy rock, can somewhat understand the post-hardcore label but they are more noise than anything imo

  • some guy says "ive been waitin for damnn longgg

  • best band ever

  • Quite possibly the best song ever written

  • Love it. Long time.

  • I met David Wm. Simms and Duane after the JL concert in Amsterdam. David Yow didn't show up though.... it's one of the biggest disappointments of my life...

I truly believe David Yow is the resurrection of Jesus Christ

  • @davidyowforever David is actually a really nice and pretty soft spoken. i only met him for a minute but he thanked me for coming and gave me a budweiser.

Hey next time you go to a JL show try to see them in a small venue and just wait after the show and im sure youll run into....just dont talk to him to long about Scratch Acid or future JL releases cause he'll walk away haha that's what he did to a bunch of people at the show i went to...

  • david yow gave me a beer after a JL show

  • Your smile, APPROXAMILE wide! David Yow makes Jim Morrison look like Dorothy!

  • HAHAHA!

  • Why do people always have to put labels on things?? Just enjoy f.f.sake

  • some 'grunge' was good, like love battery, mudhoney, green river, the fluid, screaming trees, coffin break, tad, the throwns ups, and nirvana, and chokebore was ok too. other than those, i think 'grunge' sucks total ass. why? because the bands i mentioned were the ones who hated the label 'grunge' and thought it rise to popularity was completely stupid.

  • I never understood why the corporate imitations of 'grunge' were even called grunge. Personally, I think Pearl Jam sounds nothing like Nirvana.

  • @PieceofMindmusic MELVINS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @VitalemRecords yeah but i think its a crime to call them 'grunge', i think Buzz would spit on you if you came up to him and said, "your band is fuckin grungey maaaan!"

i met Dale Crover and he seemed to agree with that as well.

  • @PieceofMindmusic we all know what we

are talking about by calling something "grunge" - I think there are only a few bands that actually

sound like something I would call "grunge", though

And all of the bands that I think sound like "grunge"

suck. I was just trying to facilitate the above comment

  • @VitalemRecords right on!

  • This is a different kind o noise. Music is just noise after all.

  • I've listened to a fuckload of music.. this is fucking important great stuff.. forget all your fucking english faggot bands this is the real thing

  • Fucking owns!!

  • fucking nice

  • that hurt my life

  • Fucking insane guitar

  • Your smile, APPROXAMILE wide!

  • when did CR do a reunion tour?

  • I'm not so sure if this man is sober.

  • i think grunge would rather die than be put on life support

  • idk a lot of bands were influenced or are, by grunge, there could be a grunge rise up sometime, shit like that is bound to happen, if a good grunge band can make it out these day's that shit's gonna pop lika cork.

  • Grunge fucking sucks though

  • i am going to see david yow's new band this evening in antwerp tonight, great stuff

  • Unfortunately, they have vowed never to play live again.. if that holds up this is their last show, ever.

  • i guess the song monster isn't on video

  • That's a motherfucker. I moved to Seattle two months prior, and had no idea they were still around.

This is my favorite scratch acid song, btw. Thanks for posting.

  • this is noise rock. it's like pre-grunge. grunge took influence from it.

  • so good. use to spark so much to this one, need to find a copy.

  • Good lord...what a song to open with! Amazing Yow can STILL do this. Saw Yow quite a few times in Chapel Hil and NYC in the late 80s and early 90s, more often in Jesus Lizard. But this song represents the ultimate Yow vehicle. Great clip and amazing to me he's still walking on anything but all fours...

  • whatchew talkin bout, hickmochaprick? this is like their best song, and one of the greatest bands! of course they were better in the 80s, but fuck!...go watch a bright eyes video or some shit. you should never have heard of this band.

  • You who posted this comment must be an asshole

  • so what ur trying to say is, that this isnt your type of music? well ok then. whatever type of music u DO like, i prolly dont like it. so that makes u an asshole. apparently.

  • Such anger in you. You poor dear. Maybe you should go meditate or something.

  • oh really? omg i wasnt aware that this is shit... i better stop listening to it then... thanks for your help friend =)

  • hihi, you like chris de burgh:

  • given «9/16/06», yow is still amongst us. thanks.

  • This is great stuff. Thanks for posting. If anybody has any more scratch acid or jesus lizard footage that would be great.

  • anyone who vidoe taped this show please contact me: enumfix@yahoo.com. I taped audio (24bit/48Khz) and would love to put together a DVD of whatever angles of video I can find.

    thanks

  • fak yeah!!

  • yeah thanks dude...I'm the guy upfront with the upright camera camcorder. This show fuckin jammed hard.

  • I uploaded a video of Gorch Fork from this show as well as Damned For All Time from another angle. Sure was surprised to see more videos up there. Thanks for posting them! Was an amazing show!

  • i can't thank you enough for filming and sharing. i wanted to go to one of those shows so badly, but couldn't. scratch acid was one of the greatest bands ever. and yep, gortch fock is great, following right in the footsteps of all those noisy tripped out texas punk bands.

  • You're welcome. I know how much this band meant to so many people - I considered it my duty to sneak in my camcorder and film this show despite the surly staffers yelling at me to put it away.

  • @antiear David Yow's Facebook: 8/31/2011 Look for Scratch Acid in your town in November or December!! There are more shows to be confirmed, but here is the existing schedule for the US dates: Tue 11/1 Variety Playhouse, Atlanta GA Wed 11/2 Cat's Cradle, Carrboro NC Fri 11/4 9:30 Club, Washington DC Fri 11/11 Lee's Palace, Toronto, ON Sat 11/12 Metro, Chicago, IL Tue 12/13 El Rey Theatre, Los Angeles, CA Wed 12/14 The Fillmore, San Francisco, CA Sat 12/17 Neumos, Seattle, WA
  • a band called Gorch Fock opened, they were pretty amazing with 4 guitar players, 1 bass, 2 drummers and the singer played trombone.
