Hi, I am trying to bring modern dance to Gynmanstics. I am currently adding mixes for acro e.g. 2.30mins. I will later be adding 1.30min mixes. I also have created a Veterans FB group where I will be add links and updates if you fancy joining. Or just check out my Youtube every now and again by search "Acro tunes". X.
P.S. Please give feedback as this is something I never done before
Hey I wanna make videos for YouTube like you (at Aerials) but I don't work there so am I allowed the bring a camera at open gym or Parent's Night Out? (probably not but you never know)
It is NEVER too old to start, people! (Well, maybe if you're 80 and arthritic...) Sure if you have hopes for the Olympics or World Championships you have to start young, but one of my classmates in my adult gymnastics class began at age 40! And he says he's in the best shape of his life at 46--and still getting better! That's one of the best things about gymnastics; there is always something new to learn or get better at, so you can never get bored of it!
You're not too old to start, especially if you're in decent shape. I'm 26 and just started. After a couple lessons, I'm doing back handsprings. No places in my area had adult programs, but some offered private lessons, so I'm paying $20 for 30 min (plenty at a time). Call gyms in the area, especially ones that offer 'open gym/mat' time. Go for it.
Oh man, I wish this was close to me, I'd go back in a heart beat, for now tho I will just be happy to relive my "glory days" thru my Level 5 daughter :-)
I would like to get over my fear of doing a back handspring. I never got over it (was in level 5 12 years ago) and quit because of my fears. I regret that decision but would like to try again. Would this class be too advanced for me?
Question: what percentage of gymnysts are seriously injured because it looks like one wrong move on alot of these things and someone lands on their neck, snaps it and is paraylsed for life.
Yes, you can get hurt (don't know the percentage) but you can in any sport, even just getting out of bed you could hurt yourself, but thats why you have a good teacher and train carefully and correctly.

Not at all! You go at your own pace.

Wow. So how long did it take these adults to learn these moves?

Depends on physical ability and willingness to try. Some already came in with some experience; like i did
