why is Clarke copping so much flak in these comments? he's a gun cricketer, probs the best player of Ashes09 and a decent bloke, whenever I've personally been to the cricket he spends a lot of the time he's not needed on the fence signing things for kids, which is a lot more than can be said about many cricketers. Freddie's in the same mould, genuine decent fella. Why can't people just enjoy the sledging, it's great entertainment, and water under the bridge for these guys

Flintoff started it down the wicket, Clarke (all 5'9" and 11 stone of him) advanced up the wicket to give some back with interest, Flintoff has little or nothing to say in return. I reckon Flintoff would be hard pressed blowing the froth off a capuccino.

Freddie is too nice to be intimdating. He always smiles when trying to intimidate, the batsman should just respond with "OK, I'll see you in the pub later". Much better to rely on his technique which was very good and say nothing at all like Walsh, Akram and a few others.

@norths8 between the years of 2003 and 2006 flintoff averaged around 40 with the bat and 27 with the ball. that is an immense run for an all rounder, putting both parts of your game together over extended periods is near on impossible at the highest level.
