With your hat switch you can just look left, right, up and down. With TIR you can roll your head opposite of your plane´s bank, as a real pilot does. You can move your head in all directions.
You can´t fly without, after testing it once. And you have no chance to win an online dogfight without :-))
Ok, but i don't understand. What's the point of buying a 200$ dollar device to just look around when you can hold down a button on the joystick to look around? I just don't understand, don't get me wrong motion tracking sounds cool but it just doesn't make any sense to me.
Well, first it's not $200. More like $150, but the point of it is that it is a natural way to look around, opposed to using your fingers to look around which is not natural. Trust me when I say once you use a TrackIR in a flight sim you'll never go back to a hat-switch. Ask around the flight-sim community and you'll see how valuable the TrackIR is. Don't just take my word for it.
