i'm going to seoul this sunday & the hotel is located at myeongdong , i didn't really know what kind of area it is until i watched this video. looks amazing ! i'm so happy :D
You can spend as much or as little as you want. You can get nice Western style rooms for like 40K won a night, but often the ladies renting them don't speak English so you make do with a phrasebook and knowing your numbers in Korean. The modern Western style rooms are called, "love motels," which often include a huge HDTV and swanky fancy styling. Food can be cheap such as gimbap, similar to American sushi roll, or can get pricey if you get into fish, beef, and Western food. Trans is cheap.
I was on an expense account so I am not the best judge, but it did not appear to be if you shopped/ate on the economy with the residents. If you just go to tourist areas I think the prices were higher. It is the major city of South Korea and has a lot of people living in small area.
