  • Always loved this song, and 24 years later, this still rocks!! I couldn't agree with you more!!!

  • had my first snog to this track :)

  • Cant believe this only has 178k views.. such a great song.

  • @TigerOf9 There are only so many of us cool people out there....

  • Iron Savior brought me here

  • I wonder how many times they sang this song for this video? No cuts.....

  • 3 am and am dancing to this while I am getting dressed....this freaking song was a fav and still is!!! thanx for posting it!!

  • ive been looking for this song forever and i finally found it!!

  • one positive - among dozens of negatives - of the new YT system, is that there are subpages for musicians, neatly organizing their releases by album and date.

and this is great! I've loved this band for many years but never knew they started back in the 80s! i love it.

  • Always one of the best songs danced to during the best of times, ROCKIN!!!!!!!!!

  • Not my very favorite genre. But still it's pretty good.

  • To the Girls !!! they know who they are,

    Best Song Ever !!

    "2012 "Happy New Year"

    from Port Lincoln, Australia

  • is that bass player the guy from midnight oil?

  • This is the first pop video ever not to have been cut; all done in one take.

  • LONG LIVE THE 70'S AND 80S

  • awesome stuff!!!!! makes my mind jump back to the early 90's when our house was blasting this song out many times a day... I wanna be young again !

  • what guitar is that, is it a gretsch or what

  • Still brilliant how can you not like this song a classic

  • From the year I was born. And I love this!

  • Love it or hate it, it's the transition between two fantastic projects, Freur and Underworld.

  • whats wrong with ppl if they dont like it, dont watch or listen. so negative

  • This tune stuck in my head the whole day........ good old 80's

  • One of those bands I tried to turn people on to....and very few got it.

  • Sounds familiar......." Waterfront " - Simple Minds.

  • This has a wombling groove to it. V cheesy 80's cheesefest.

  • the voice. i'm melting.

didnt know they were that good back then.... and i call myself a underworld fan. shame on silly me -.-

  • 'I am the doctor, please report to the dance floor'

  • 11 people dont wanna be under the radar!

  • Whatafantastic song! Play it LOUD!

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • The 80's had wicked music....The Cure, Depeche Mode, and The Smiths....nuff said.

  • 9 people weren't underneath the radar

  • Another Classic IMHO, the 80's weren't all bad.

  • Underworld have changed over the ages. They were amazing then are are amazing now I like both the variants of music.

  • He's got a wicked twitch. Tourettes?

  • I got dragged to some Techno concert, sounded like a car alarm going off for 9 hours straight.

  • I'm choosing to believe the dislikes are for Mr. Hyde's ponytail

  • This is a perfect song.

  • 565 people are awesome

  • I bought this on cassette in 1988 for just this song. The rest of the album sucked, but this tune rocks!

  • haha Karl with a ponytail, that and the white shirt make him look like the lead singer from Status Quo LOL

  • Friggin Great!!

  • Wow Underworld were so different compared to their trance music with Born Slippy.

  • this song is unbelievably badass

  • @WORTY424 totally

  • I heard this song so much as a kid >u<

My dad would play it all the time, I forgot all about it until they started playing it on the radio sp much here in Aus. Its so great to listen to while working. <33

  • GREAT TUNE, USED TO STOCK BEER KEGS IN WORK WITH THIS ON THE WALKMAN !

  • If any of you guys are in Aussie get a chance to see Darryl Cotton & Ash Robertson cover this you wont be disappointed :0

  • Quelle fabuleuse intro!

  • @sentosasam I remember it being used for a compilation of one day cricket catches back in 89. Classic shit!

  • Does me think of their latest album "Barking". Nice

  • this really is a classic track it looks like it could've been made way after 1988.

  • saw them live in 1989 ..... WOW - what a ROCKband they were :-)

amazing show and such good songs!!

  • There are only a few 80s songs that still stand up today, and most of them would only need a minor tweak to make them indistinguishable from current music. This is definitely one of them.

  • I have yet to hear a bad Freur song and a bad Underworld song. These guys are amazingly talented....

  • Used to drive to and fro in a 1971 Ford F250 listening to this on the radio. One of the local stations in Denver had an FM/AM format, and played to both types of radio. Good thing, as the old Ford had just an AM radio.

  • WOW , he had hair !! :O

  • This reached #2 in my native South Africa.

  • this song stilll rocks!!!!!!

  • @hoplite46 ...not only this track rocks......old time underworld rocks !!!!

  • 2:18 for slaaaapppinn da bassseeeee

  • People should stop saying that they want old music back. Music is recorded, they can revisit it any time they want. Besides Rock is an evolutionary process, it changes over time constantly. Eventually people will stop like the music that's popular and will move on to try new things... unless of course, civilization is completely retarded

  • @TheNEWfilmfanatic99 Actually, I think the problem is that from around the dawn of rock music up until the late 80s, it was more of an art form than a commodity. Today? It's a P&L section on MEGAHUGECORP's bottom line. "How much did our music division make last quarter? Only 20 million?? Fire 50 people and drop every act that didn't sell a million downloads! NOW!"

  • 80s music rocks,bring it back pleaseeeeee.

  • 80s music rocks,bring it back pleaseeeeee.

  • Wow.... considering how they are today, this is deliciously fun

  • I've been watching this clip several times a week. Which is a lot considering I'm using a slow dialup connection. Something about this song that makes me want to listen to it again.

  • Love Love Love!!! :)

  • I was a DJ in the 80's and still mix vinyl I can mix any of this stuff with current music and the 80's always pull more people on the dance floor....Outstanding!

  • arc it up and do the housework woman!

  • The most underrated act in history. Absolutely fantastic song and sound. Why are the underdogs never popular???

  • @northernstudio This song was very popular at the time. But they're different now, that's why they're not.

  • Great song, classic 80s. One obscure thing I remember when this song came out is how the opening few seconds, with the morse code, sounds uncannily like a track called Lucifer by The Alan Parsons Project ... /watch?v=EAGUUrgmBkQ&fmt=18 (about 30 seconds from the start). Maybe no one in the world but me can hear it.

  • I owned this cassette tape back in the day...LOVED this song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I owned this cassette tape back in the day...LOVED this song!!!

  • From one of my fave albums of the 80s! So underrated! Was there a video for Glory! Glory! ?

  • All you have to do is listen to "Fever" or "I need a doctor" and it's not hard to do the math that they'd be doing what they're doing today. I hear A LOT of this version of Underworld on "Barking." Just saying.

  • Yes this and the second Underworld album were very good. The problem is that no one ever went to see them live (at least in Phila Pa) as it was not promoted at all I heard from a record store guy (record store what is that) that there were only 7 people at the show. We listened to this album everyday for years. This era was by far superior to the crap they made later. I don't know what is more disturbing, what they became or the fact that anyone listens to it (the later period.)

  • I loved this album. Probably even more than the Born Slippy period.

  • Best song from the 80's!!! Why the hell is this not available on i-tunes. Come Underworld unbunch your panties, swallow your pride and make this available on itunes.

  • 8 People have no taste in music!

  • @MrBUSABAZZ If only it was just 8...

  • Music just isn't that same these days. Unbeatable song!

  • he has a big forehead O_O

  • I LOVE IT.

  • I was working the Yukon when I first herd this 19yo bartending, mmmm memories:} I also remember hearing this song on an epasode of Miami Vice Man I love this song

  • Pure brilliance, we danced & other things under the radar. I'm so glad I grew up during the 80's

  • OMG! I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • From the success of Underneath the Radar, which actually was huge on the floor for anyone who was interested in dance music and really stood out and to the side at the time it was a commercial success to everything else being played in '88,..to Trainspottings Born Slippy...to Jumbo, Downpipe, Two Months Off, and Always Loved a Film - what a progression!!

  • @saybootopikachu Don't forget Freur's "Doot Doot" back in the early 80's!! That was their first hit predating Underneath the Radar.... like you said... What a Progression, indeed!!

  • I remember my mother being in love with Underworld in the 80s...carried with me and to this day they rock1

  • I don't remember how I found this song, but I like it.

  • Stupid video, awesome song!

  • Great song. I very like their two first albums.

  • this is such a mint song i have it on record got to love MK1

  • Dedicated to all my Navy RADAR PLOTTERS I served with.

  • This was my absolute favourite when I was a kid and I still love love love it!!! '80's Forever!!!

  • Its a shame that they don't make music like this no more .Music today except for a few ,is shit

  • @spellbound153

    I hear ya!!!

  • @spellbound153

I can relate, the music of today ( most ) is crap, the 70's and 80's were awesome!

  • @spellbound153 they just use sex to back up a lot of crap songs

  • What was the album they did with.. um.. the song "man with a fever/man with a mission" and "talk about the weather" ?? can anyone tell me?

  • I went on a Cruise (To EXPO '88) Brisbane... this was THE night club "Anthem"!

Ahh... the Memories this song brings back (when I was 18 years old!) :)

  • @melbgal aaaah yes and i was one of the DJs spinning this track in BNEs clubs back then - in another lifetime... Sigh

Saw underworld at the roxy in the valley in '88 :)

  • Put the whole album on iTunes.

  • I love this so much! Will never get sick of it!

  • still a great track

  • Not just the fact that they were this then..but Freur before this...they know how to evolve..

  • @futuristlimited I feel for you. This song helped me get thru a rough period in my life. I bet Denise is speeding thru the clouds to this tune.

  • This Song has been around since the 80's. My Late Ex Denise Anderson LOVED this Song.... I Love it too...... I think about her every time I hear it on the Radio & Every time I wake up as its also my Alarm on my mobile...

WITH ALL MY LOVE..... RIP... DENISE MARGRET ANDERSON..... &

THANKYOU TO UNDERWORLD FOR MAKING HER SO HAPPY OVER THE YEARS WE SPENT TOGETHER....

I LOVE YOU DENISE.... WE'LL BE TOGETHER AGAIN WHEN I DIE... CHRIS.....X

  • Awesome song ! I remember dancing to this at our wedding in 1988! lol

  • Underworld + Transpotting = Epic Win!

It's too bad that Australia didn't get the Transpotting version of Born Slippy Nuxx.

We only had the headbanging one.

  • This blew my mind in Miami Vice. Pure dynamite for the brain!

  • I haven't heard this song in a long time. I love it.

  • He says I am the Doctor

    In a B52

    I come acress the horizon

to drop my love on you...

Did this guy get a job as a speech writer for George W?

  • thank god underworld tightened up and stopped trying to be depeche mode.

the music they made after this nonsense is as innovative as innovative gets.

this however....is crap....and reminds me of escape club....which is sad

  • @akmoyer17

dont be a doughnut mate...this is a classic tune...and is why i love underworld ....but yea of course the later stuff is class

  • I hear this very often on our Gold Coast 92.5 station, and it grabbed me strongly.

  • this awesome song deserves way more views.

  • Awsome song, highly underrated at the time. Great vid too. Done all in one take.

  • Transition from Freur to Underworld

  • under world, one of the greatest techno bands of all time!!!! has anyone herd any of there songs with no singing??

  • lol i rekon ae, they turned to dumb arse dancy fuks lol...love this song tho all the same..yeeeeaaaa boi

  • Hats off to the cameraman.

  • Love it

  • Makes perfect sense.

  • great to hear music you can understand beats the shit you hear these days

  • Love the ponytail!

  • I have seen them perform at The Palladium in Salt Lake City, Utah in the 80's

  • Karl Hyde is the man. You can name me all the so-called "talent" that win Grammys every year and Karl Hyde has more talent in his pinky than all of them combined. You can basically be guaranteed that any other musician would sell-out or fade into nothingness over the decades that Underworld has been around. What I respect about this band is that they manage to tell mainstream music of every generation: "go fuck yourself, this sounds better".

  • pekelně dobré!!!

  • Love it!

It's not that different from UW2 though, electronic beats, synths, vocoder, pulsing bass, and Karl singing away merrily. He still plays guitar a fair bit live to this day.

Time for a new mix of this to make it into the current live set!

  • Still a brilliant song

  • I like how he's running away from the camera at the end. He's all like "Hey! Get away from me, you asshole!"

  • i am the doctor... please report to the dancefloor... we kiss under the searchlights...

  • This, Dark Train, Pearls Girl (Tin There) and Two Months Off are my favourite Underworld tracks.

  • OMG!! I loved this song and Born slippy and never made the connection.. WOW!! Love this..

  • Great musos

  • the 80's great memories...

  • @cannacat when ever I hear this I always think of guru josh,2 bitchin 80's momments ........

  • Loved this CD!

  • Good song !

    good hair

    good special effects

  • tert... awesome

  • best song ever

  • He was so close to tripping over that step at the end !

  • what a bass line ! Brilliant.

  • dizzy much??

i love this song and vid :D

  • I can do the computer sound and robot voice at the start. I should try out for Australia's Got Talent.

  • This is the opening song on: Season 5- Miami VICE episode 1

I am not going to forget the 80's.......

(and it is NOT on iTunes yet!!)

  • One of my brothers earlier efforts at directing. The cool thing is that it's done as a single steadicam shot, no editing apart from the picture in picture, and that was the first take. Forget the 80s? Nah. Synchronised 70's disco dancing is what I'd really like to forget.

  • Would be so funny to see Underworld perform this live now

  • totally influenced by Midge Ure

  • this is a great 80's hit, love this song

  • the cut of karl hyde

  • I still can't believe this is the same group that would later make Born Slippy. I love both songs for completely different reasons, but it spins me they're connected like that.

  • Try searching for Fruer - doot doot.

    You'll be even more surprised.

  • Go further back to 1982 and you'll see their earlier group (Freur) ... hit like Doot and Matters of the Heart! Quite the diverse bunch!

  • @anthem47 I agree biggest backflip in styles ever from one album to next..wicked lads

  • @anthem47 couldn't have said it better myself

  • @anthem47 don't u c similarity in the way they compose the music?? Vocoders guitar, monotony, electronic instruments, monotonous rhythm...

  • @anthem47 I hear ya, I remember this and "stand up" when i first started working in alternative radio, they really were nothing that anyone would remember, just another brit technopop band, they get props for TOTALLY reinventing themselves.

  • Please put this song on ITunes!!

  • @XxImaginaryHeartsxX I still have the 12" on vinyl. listened to it, when I was 17, damn, I would like to have that on my itunes collection!!

  • love song

  • i fucking love this!

  • yeah thanx,I am really gets hip to the Underworld))))

  • yay i grew up with song britpop ftw thanks spikee for uploading it
