  • same here mate, but i saw them in newcastle,

    i love them now!!!

  • @fintoj You weren't a fan before..... That explains you calling them "The Stiffs"... ;o)

  • Excellent Song !

  • love that riff

  • im goin 2 see the SLF at the manchester academy in a few weeks, im so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im a new young fan so im really excited

  • Yeah, cool. Saw them at Rock City, Nottingham, December 1987. Fantastic.

  • This is the first time I've seen this since watching it live on St Patrick's night in 1988 at the Brixton Academy. Truly amazing !!

  • Previous contributor is correct this was filmed at Brixton Academy on 17th March 1988 as part of the Go for it again tour. I was also there it was fantastic. And here there are in 2009 still going and sounding fantastic with a tour coming up this march

  • punk will never die even if i was never around wen they came out SLF RULES :)

  • @fenton555 Punk just died when the first kid shouted "Punks not dead"

  • see this is what punk is. it will never die. i love SLF for still being able to kick ass!!

  • saw them last nite (08/08) preston, sang this a lot faster for some reason!!!

  • I was at this gig, 88/89(ish) Brixton Academy I think.

  • best band ever and still going

  • whooa this brings back memories of jumping around in St Johns hall...........all we wanted was an altermative ulster..........what a circus we've got now at least you could protesr SLF

  • What a song!

  • awsome

  • Fucking outstandin tune,

    Ling live the fingers!

  • W.O.W

  • i love this

  • im not 100% when but i know it was filmed brixton and i think it was filmed in 1980?

  • March 17 1988 Brixton Academy Go For It Again Tour. Slf and Therapy? are the best bands to come out of Northern Ireland ever...

  • ..if that's the case, i was there!! cool!

  • ...march '88 that is...

  • TOP BAND TOP SONG.... " SEE YA UP THERE "

  • SLF still the best, many memories from the 70's travling round britain to watch them.

  • I rememeber Jake Burns being interviewed on Radio 1 about 1980 and he said that the influnences for SLF were The Clash, The Clash and The Clash. Brilliant!

  • the clash rock and i love the song they done buy joe strumer- strummerville

    kick ass

  • Strummerville is a great tribute to joe!

  • damn straight it is :P a gig has just passed and i missed it :( on the 11 march i think at bristol carling academy

  • Yeah, bad drums, slow tempo. Still dam great! The reason The Clash were the only band that ever counted was because SLF were Irish and back then, well you know...that didn't count.

  • SLF are one of my fave bands,

    but the Clash are LEGENDS.

The Clash will always count for something.

  • in fairness the clash did make slf count, cos no one knew fuck all about london, and we seen n. irland every nite on the news, so i guess it made us feel we were close to what slf were singing, cos sure as fuck we didnt know what the west way meant, to me, the two best bands ever, the clash and slf

  • beautiful! absolutely fantastic! SLF were my first love in music and I can't count how many times I've seen them. Absolutely love them, and it's great to have Ali back again :-) Thanks for posting this video...

  • going to see them on friday... in Dundee. wot a band seen em about 17 times now...

  • Its from the Go For It Again tour. This was recorded at the Brixton Acadamy 1988. One of the best live albums out there. See You Up There - get it.

  • Maybe better than the The Clash, but in a different way. Something lighter and teen anger which still turn me on after all these years...

  • love that song. great lyrics and smooth punk rock riff.

  • Is that the Barrowlands in Glasgow?

Saw the fingers there 3 or 4 times - superb!!!

The last time they opened with Suspect device and Bruce Foxton played Bass - ahhhh memoreeez

  • It's the 1988 Go For It Again tour, ripped off the See You Up There video. Yeah it's a bit slow, but it was the first time they'd played together in five years. Go see them now (UK tour in March 2007) they'll blow you away!

  • top band nothing like it now a days

  • aye i was at the last gig before the first split and seen them many times since but they toured with the stanglers twice and they are pish with that tosser as a front man he took his shirt off that was enough for me

    bloody dub

  • Memories flood back. Liked it when i was 15 love it at 43.

  • What a top band!! Lost their edge slightly but fuck it..they rock!!

  • im mates wif jimmy reilly nephew, and i know jim, i left then started a tribute band called jimmys stiff fingers, he lives pretty close to me

  • saw them 3 times in the 70s twice in last year, great then, fuckin shite now.jakes turned into a proper stuck up his own arse, wanker.retire now n leave us some good memories.

  • huh? what's seems to be the problem with the drummer's playing? As far as i can see he palys just fine, Dolphin Taylor or not. If it's the slow tempo - well, Jake starts the song and sets the tempo with his guitar riff, so if there's any coplaints, blame him. Anyways, sounds good to me.

  • Try playing at the right speed and not at 33rpm. Crap rendition of a great song.

  • You say that like it's not the actual SLF playing the song...well buddy, it is...

St Paddy's Day Belfast 1993, I found out.

  • Never suggested it wasn't mate. I've seen them 15 times live (16 on 15th October this year)and 'Alternative Ulster' was never played like this.

  • @LambruscoKid

slf have played barrowlands glasgow on st paddys day since 1991

  • He really is a crap drummer.

  • late slf as thats dolphin taylor on drums, hence why they then sounded shit, they fucked up when Jim left.
