@April1442 Haha I save the stuff that I type on my computer and I usually name them after the songs that inspire my writing...but I didn't this time :( if I'm looking at the right one, here's a line from it "Distance yourself from reality and you become the epitome of insanity" I don't even know. Most of it's nonsense. What were you writing about?
Does anybody know the classical sounding song that was playing when Mikael (daniel craig) was laying on his love seat/ couch in the guest host thinking with his headphones in??
Nine Inch Nails is apparently not dead, I just realized. It lives on in these Reznor+Ross soundtracks, which are as much NIN albums as Ghosts was, and even better.
Which is good because I've listened to every NIN song ever at least 5+ times... XD
GOD! I can't wait to see this movie and hear the whole soundtrack! The Social Network kicked ass! Wow, two of my favorite things combined... movies and Trent Reznor's music! MORE! MORE!
GOD! I can't wait to see this movie and hear the whole soundtrack! The Social Network kicked ass! Wow, two of my favorite things combined... movies and Trent Reznor's music! MORE! MORE!
Who would know that there would be such chemistry between Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara? I mean wow. Wow. I totally have a girl crush on Rooney now. Of course I already love Daniel, but yeah, lovin' him even more now too.
I don't even care for watching the Swedish version now. I'll probably get some bashing for that, but whatever.
At first I was pist that Hans Zimmer didn't win the Oscar for Inception but after listening to Ghosts, The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo I can totally understand why Trent and Atticus received the award. Hans Zimmer couldn't have lost to a more worthy adversary.
Great soundtrack, great movie. Personally I thought the American 2011 version was WAY better than the Swedish one. I really didnt want the movie to end.
I almost orgasmed just watching the sex scene between Craig and Mara. If they had sex in the movie to this very song, I would've soaked the seat. Way to go, Reznor.
there is something more peaceful and elegant about this piece that outweighs the dark austere atmosphere it creates, I like it, It makes me think of walking in the woods on a cold night passing by some victims of a homicide yet at this point in time I cant get over how beautiful the night is
@pajano I love that undulating wave sound too. I think he kinda uses it in the track Complication With Optimistic Outcome. Though in that track it sounds like it could be generated by guitar distortion. I tell you man, Trent Reznor using distortion is like David Gilmour (from Pink Floyd) with a guitar: they can both achieve with a few notes more than most people ever hope to achieve with an entire band!
@mrbrockpeters You speak truth, good sir. NIN and Floyd happen to be two of my most beloved artists. The way they can use music to scoop you up and carry you away from reality is something to be truly admired.
@mrbrockpeters I think they used that machine for that sound rather than a guitar, i can't remember what it's calleds buts it an unusual intrument. There is a video about it on youtube somewhere.
I met Trent right after the release of the Aug '85 film Real Genius starring Val Kilmer. He had not seen the movie yet and I quoted some of it that I thougth was funny. (After Val Kilmer’s character Chris makes a pass at Deborah Foreman’s character she replies) Can you hammer a six-inch spike through a board with your penis? He thought the logo NIN would look better than SIS and Nine Inch Nails was born that day
@wammybar23 As do I, my friend. Listening to Trent's music, the embodiment of the pain and suffering in his soul has done so much for me personally that I could never properly express my gratitude to him. But people grow and change and must follow new paths. It's much better to leave a good thing how it was than to drag it through the dust behind you. He's told his story and now the fact that I can listen through and thoroughly enjoy his soundtracks is more than I could ask for.
i dont understand why people say this is creepy... it sounds good, but that pad just, just ruin everything... maybe with less treble should do the trick, also needs a little more reverb in my opinion. But anyway, it's nice
@eetherealflux its not creepy, but it is unsettling. i went for a walk at 2 in the morning listening to this song and the dark things my mind thought of was creepy. odd part is i did it the next night
Actually, has quite a nice droning sound to it. But I've always been on the fence about Trent & Crew's ambient music. It has potential to utterly destroy Lustmord and sound amazing and creepy, but it just doesn't do it for me like their other songs do.
Thumbs up if the next time some Mormons come to your door you will gladly invite them in and play this soundtrack real loud and never address that it's playing.
@mikefrommontreal As a matter of fact I can hear the message of Christ and he's creeping me out, he keeps asking for more bodies and I have to deliver by sundown or he is going to whip out his wrath again.
oh.my.god. this is amazing. kinda reminds me of ghost in the shell hmmm :))) congrats on reznor becoming the next big movie music composer of the century!! :D:D:D:D XXXX
Nothing special about this soundtrack. It's your standard NIN, atmospheric, creepy-loop sound. I'm not bashing it, just stating the fact that it's not particularly inventive. I am sure it will work very well in the film.
@33hegemon I love Trent Reznor's work, but it was an absolute abomination in my opinion that Zimmer's score for Inception lost to the Social Network's.
@louielouie11224 The soundtrack for Inception was basically one song repeated over and over at different speeds. Not really deserving of an award in my opinion.
