Because god(s) and religion(s) should have no place in politics. Religion is a perverted tool used primarily but not exclusively by the republican party to garner votes from America's abundance of poorly educated social conservatives. Title of this video is misleading, because while Palin is a bit of a weirdo, she never compared herself to God.
Also, the reference in the Bible of God writing our names on His hand is a reference to the nail scars that He suffered by dying on the cross for us. The actual weight of that comment cannot possibly be compared with jotting something down so you don't forget it.

@OdinLowe The answer to your first two questions is yes. Humans have free will, but God could have prevented both of those acts if He so willed. Why God chose not to is beyond me, but there's always a good reason for everything, even if it seems unlikely. I believe in evolution, so don't place me in that category.

However, I do regard it as one of God's books that has been distorted by the hand of man. Second, I believe that God has multiple books: The Quran, the Bible/Torah, the Zoroastrian Avesta, the Hindu Vedas.

@OdinLowe His "disciples" books do not discourage people from believing in evolution. 1st off, the books have been physically altered by con men who lived after the fact. 2nd, the truth still lies in the scriptures if you look closely, but ill-intentioned religious "leaders" distort the verses in order to brainwash the masses. Anyway, the main point of God's books is the following:
Worship God alone, do good deeds, think good thoughts, and say good things, and never commit idolatry.
