sum things still aren't making a difference for me, liek the pre-charge with the stick. negative edge is fairly simple, and i can barely kara throw sumtimes, but it's not too useful alone, and it's pretty hard to do with continuous shoryukens. i know softmodding would make it cake though.

na, man, the continuous srk's are srk-motion+kara-motion in between the next srk, meaning ur hands have to be pretty quick and exact, unless u made it easier by modding ur stick to make throwing one button, thus making kara throwing easier, thus making it easier to pull off the continuous srk. imo, kara's aren't even major tactics, but they can be very useful in the right situation, of course, there just don't seem to be too many of those.

I haven't played SF4 yet, but I'm sure this will be helpful for new SF4 players too. While the 2 games are really different, things like Kara Throwing (really only important for Ken in SF4 so far) and the difference between chains and links will be really helpful.

I don't know if negative edge still works in SF4 and a lot of the ways to combo into supers are probably different though.

The characters in SF3 seem far less silly to me. Don't get me wrong, they're certainly wierd, but no where nar as cheesy/stupid as those in SF2. Plus, the fighting engine is infinitely better in SF3, hands down.

Links don't require "fast" movement, it's more timing than anything. As such, they're harder than cancels, but usually they're not ridiculously hard.

I didn't know about it til I played KOF at my college. Some guy told me about it and that you can do it in just about every fighting game. Now I know how I was able to perform super cancels in SFEX when I only press punch once.

Erm Twelve's kara throw is actually very good.

Err... no it's not. His backward kara-throw goes further than forward.

Twelve has better throw priority than other characters, but he has the WORST throw range in the game. His forward kara-throw barely gives him normal throw range.

I respect your opinion. 3rd does have some weird characters and I thought some of the characters could've been better. However, the s--t creature has a hidden arm, the naked man's body is iron hard, Ken has two axe kicks and Gill is something like an angel/god. I see flaws in it as well but I guess Capcom tried something knew. The parry system, fluid animation and some of the characters is what I like about it.
