@firuinthehouse it seems like his facial structure changes to evoke certain feelings/ emotions. I also heard because of his obsession with regards to japonism, he wanted to make him self look Japanese. So he exaggerated certain features to do so.

I always thought this guy painted the way he did because nobody would pay attention to him, so he would emphasize his paintings more and more-using thick paint and making obvious brush strokes to the point where he was screaming. Just think; If he lived today he wouldn`t have had to commit suicide. The "religoin of peace" would have done it for him.
