Very well shot! How have you been finding the 6.5x55? I've been interested in it for a while, but never seen anybody use it; everyone I know seems to be using .243 or .308!
It is not uncommon for the bullet to pass through.
In fact they are designed to expand and exit leaving a wound to bleed from and causing a good blood trail, should the animal run. This way not only is it easy to find also "bleed out" is quick.
@yorkshireroestalking Nice bullet. I live 10 minutes from where that bullet was manufactured, Bend Oregon. I always go in and buy 2nds. Bullets that didn't make past inspection.
im sorry but that tripod setup is cheating!!!! very unsporting if your that close and the animal is that tame use a compound bow or something cos that shit is about as sporting as buying veal from the super market and mounting it as a trophy
@militantmindset If you can take a deer from 65m i'de like to see it.. Most longbows and recurves will never shot a live animal past 30m and most compound won't go past 50m. Not because you can't hit a deer at that range, but because it's unlikely you'll kill it quickly at that range. And who cares what you use to kill a deer, monopod, bipod, or tripod.. Who cares.. If your kill it in the first shot then at least you did the right thing..
god you are all a bunch of sad little pricks hahaha real men hey???? wot a laff. you all must have fuckin ugly wives

bows were Deemed un ethical, a large chance of wounding.
our weapons have to produce 1,700 ftlbs to be deer legal and for roe in england be .243 or bigger

What kind of ammunition do you shoot out of your 6.5x55? What weight bullet?
Thanks,
Ken

icebug.
not subsonic, it would be difficult at low velocity to be deer legal
yorkshireroestalking 1 year ago
Is the round subsonic?
Sounds like it is.

FIRSTLY IF STICKS MAKE THE SHOT MORE ACCURATE THEN THATS BEST FOR THE DEER.
THEN THE BUCK IS NOT TAME IT IS UNAWARE OF US.
BOW HUNTING WAS OUTLAWED IN THE UK SOMETIME AGO.
AND THE RANGE WAS ABOUT 65M'S FAR ENOUGH FOR A BOW ANYWAY.
IT WASN'T A TROPHY BEAST JUST A CULL BUCK.
YOUR COMMENTS PROVE YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT DEER MANAGEMENT OR BEST PRACTICE.
