To Japanese people back then, American soldiers were more like a devil. Before the Kamikaze units formed, the U.S. made air-raid on most of the Japan's major cities.
One of them, Tokyo Air-raid. The U.S. bombers dropped fire-bombs on Tokyo making a circle of fire aound the city so there would be no escape for the citizens there and then dropped countless bombs over their heads.

@CaptainAmerica322 No. Unlike the kamikaze, the US sailors had no choice but to shoot the planes if they want to protect THEMSELVES. The kamikaze on the other hand, could have backed out anytime they wanted to, but they choose to die to protect their homeland and their own people.

They did the kamikaze attack, in order to protect the woman, child, and old man of a homeland.
Their half was the college-bred elite.
The remaining half was an enlistee in his teens.
The kamikaze attack started in October, 1944 when the wish of a victory was lost.
They concentrated and aimed at the aircraft carrier of the base which bombs Japan.
They are enlistees and are not compulsion.
We the Japanese still respect them.

The palestinians for an example don't have weapons so they have to bomb them selfs.. Kamikaze and suicide bombers are the same. I'm not saying that suecide bombers are a good thing, its just that you made a fool of yourself. It's like saying (EXAMPLE) "Russians are not allowed to bomb my country, but the koreans are allowed"

Kamikaze ("Divine wind") pilots wore helmet snot to protect their heads, but to keep them warm. Fighter Aircraft of that period where not yet pressurized & cockpits were not heated with the exception of the B-29 Flying Fortress. Japanese Imperial Navy pilots where some of the best pilots to ever fly, Their devotion to their country & their Emperor who they regarded as a God is not that different from our own soldiers today, who would lay down their life for the greater victory of their country.
