Actually, this trick proves extermely useful if you know where your going. I had to obtain an item back at the first level (after getting off the elevator) so i just hopped in the truck where i killed sniper wolf and voila...

you know after you take out sniper wolf for the 2nd time ?? in those warehouses you'll find box c, so there i save it up and then i go back to nuclear storage and break guards' necks for rations to finish the rest of the game, really handy there

Vamp in MGS2 used to be XTREMELY frustrating for me but once i kept ducking all their shots just miss. It never works with guards tho, so in MGS1, at least I had to hunt for rations. I don't know who's 1337 enough to play thru the game never getting shot once, that's like near impossible, and im calm, im not offended, unlike other fools ;]

man, Metal Gear Solid was good. the graphics may seem dodgy now but it nailed every single game play element perfectly. It just oozed style and menace, the formula of tense sneaking between furious boss battles/ guard confrontations was perfect.

The plot in later games suffered as they kept having to refer back to a larger story, each cut scene distracting from the main story drive going from a direct 24 style (find the bomb) to x-files (what is going on) plot development that harmed the series

There are three places with the trucks, and each can be accessed quickly if you have all three cardboard boxes. There is the heliport, the nuclear warhead storage facility, and I belive that one snowfield where you kill sniper wolf, not sure on the last one though.

there is another secert in the game. if you have unlock the camra. take picture in certain areas in the game and you will get a ghost in it.
